for coming back to MFE!Thranduil
In Reply To That’s the message from Pace, although when the time comes, the old-fashioned joys of orc killing are likely to win out over any political concerns. “Thranduil doesn’t want to kill the orcs,” corrects Pace, “he wants to cut them, slice them, torture them.”
Seriously, just when you thought Thranduil couldn't get any cooler. you're not alone

I'd be very grateful if you could. It's frustrating that this site is so hit and miss for me to access and it sounds as though I'm missing a really interesting article.

Although, it's going to be interesting how they explain the dead wife's necklace thing in the third film to the general audience, especially as the film makers seem to have decided this is the major motivation for Thranduil heading to Erebor. The necklace/jewels being denied to Thranduil by the dwarves wasn't in the TE prologue and only in the EE version, so I don't know how this is going to make any sense to the general theatre goer who hasn't seen the EE. In fact, I wonder how much sense the reference to the "white gems of pure starlight" in the Thranduil/Thorin scene made to those who hadn't seen the EE. At the moment, for me, the film makers have given his character too many negative qualities with nothing positive so far to counterbalance this and I find this disappointing. Hopefully, all will be redeemed in the third film. Not too long to wait now to find out.

But taking care of a beard would take time away from carefully choosing his royal clothing and fixing his hair, and most importantly sitting hotly on his throne. Though, we also have Thranduil in his spare time aka Lee in his normal clothes but already having Thranduil's hair- BTS material I really dig a lot I must say.

And that's why elves are better (and prettier) than He-whose-name-shall-not-be-spoken and Davy Jones. Personally, I think it's more likely that being eaten up with evil might have something to do with the missing nose. Just sayin'.
"There's distraction buzzing in my head, Saying in the shadows it's easier to stay. But I've heard rumors, of true reality. Whispers of a well-lit way. When the world has fallen out from under me, I'll be found in You, still standing. When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees, When time and space are through. I'll be found in You." ~Shadowfeet by Brooke Fraser
