Being my fav's out of the bunch (but they are all wonderful) Just *swoon*
And re this pic: I'm getting this 'I'm the king of the world' vibe here Though it looks highly uncomfortable, he looks as if he could chill out on that exact spot for the entire day

........... when it comes to not viewing mwoaaaar Thranduil imagery. So I might just go ahead and view it eventually. But it is not this day

Thanks again for posting this (I'm starting to repeat myself ) Why Peter, why could this not be part of DOS' EE?? And good eye Lurker, first thing I noticed too were those subs so yeah there's some Elvish speaking going on here. Oh what I would give to see it on the big screen How sexy would that be, our two fav Elves speaking Elvish to one another *THUD*

Y'know, ever since we started talking about Thrandy's rings, I seem to have a growing fascination with rings in general. I rarely wear them myself, but when I see other people, especially men wearing them, and it's not just a wedding ring, I find myself wondering why they're wearing them, where they came from and if they have any special meaning to the wearer. Even with the LOTR and Hobbit movies, I've started being more aware of any rings the characters are wearing and wondering what the significance is. I've even started thinking about how some of the characters in the fantasy story I'm writing might wear rings and what they might mean . I think I'm obsessed. You think? (nothing wrong with it, Thranduil and his bling has this effect on all people)

I still wish they'd included the completed scene...

It could have been a genuine (for lack of a better word) deleted scene (one not intended to be a canon part of the film - though Jackson does seem inclined to only show scenes he wanted to include as part of the story. I mean, it does make sense that Thranduil would know that little rhyme, but I suppose Jackson wanted Bard to reveal it? Or, perhaps he's come up with some other explanation for Legolas going after Tauriel that we'll see in BOFA?) Feeling a bit more disgruntled at the lack, now. (And more irritated that the digital release came well before the hard copy. /curmudgeon )

Seriously, my brain didn't seem to be working when I posted it - and I have alerted others about language problems with their post Guess it's the trauma of no new Thranduil scene in the EE The funny's link was embedded with the image and I don't keep links so *shrug* Anyways, in recompense, totally language-issue free image (too blurred,to be a problem surely) but language alert on the source::

I've already said how irritated I am about the download being released ahead of the DVD. Cynical money making ploy by WB. I already weakened and bought the TE and have the EE bluray on order, but I am NOT paying for this movie 3 times, especially as now I'm rather disheartened by what has been filmed but not included - and is not even a fully developed scene in the deleted scenes part of the extras.

I mean, really, we got that %@#^ Eowyn stew scene in TTT EE, and we can have all kinds of stupid $%*& and frat-boy humor in the Hobbit movie versions, but a king who actually was created by Tolkien (yes, I'm looking daggers at you, Tauriel!) can't get some r-e-s-p-e-c-t ?! Really? REALLY?! [/Amy Pohler voice] Good thing I'm not bitter and don't hold grudges. ;)

I would stare the daggers at PJ not Tauriel (she didn't asked to be created or to be shoved into the limelight at the expense of her most magnificent King) but agree with everything else you said

So I shared this set of GiFs on a new thread as "Newish BotFA Elf Battle+Negotiation images/GIFs [Potential spoilers]". The awesome Elvenking is truly a fierce and determined warrior, and he's even out front with his guards trailing. What a leader! Source clicky for the GIFs and a few more

I'm looking at Tauriel more as PB's avatar than as a movie character just now, and though I've been virtually kicking PJ's shins since Two Towers...I think I need to start kicking a bit higher over this insult to His Royal Fabulousness. ;)

And I feel the worse for it. But I've moved on from my foul mood of this morning (sorry, no sleep does that to me) and now I'm wondering if anyone has bothered with the commentary track - I'm assuming the digital version came with one. Maybe PJ explains some of the bits that have us feeling a bit lost? (Like: Did Legolas just go AWOL, or what? I wish I could do the sleeping-while-walking-around (or sleeping-while-getting-useful-stuff-done) but I'm fading fast, hopefully I'll have something more productive to add when I get back.

On this thread. Not anything revelational.
Really meh overall, imo. And why is Bard looming larger than the Elves? *sense of foreboding just looking at DoS EE* ... But Thranduil looks AWESOME as always! Comforting thought is that the Thranduil image is not smaller than Tauriel or Legolas, and he seems to be a bit more to the front than they both are.

Question to Thrallls about clicky images (and a slight OT)
[In reply to]
|
|
|
Just dawned on me to ask: Do you know, at least for my clickies, when on the source, if you open images on a new winder/tab, if you see a small magnifying glass with a little "+" sign in it's lens, you will get a larger-res version when you click on the image? ... which I presume you'd prefer whenever available. Aside from crediting originators and acknowledging their work, that's why I go to the trouble of making the source linkies. Illustration tumblr is not that great an example since it doesn't seem to matter if you save the image directly, but I'm too lazy to go searching for a scenario appropriate page... like pinterest: 1. On image source page.
2. Right-click on image and select "Open Link in New Tab" or "View Image" if it's not available
3. Hover mouse over new tab/window and click on image when the magnifying glass icon appears. Viola!
4. Save as per usual process. Hope this makes sense. Now to add more Pretty! to the thread Now to the OT: Did you see a thread about unused/deleted scenes of Thranduil? I thought I saw one before I logged off yesterday. Wanted to look in today and can't find it anymore. Am I hallucinating? (if i am, I guess my no-new-Thranduil-scenes trauma is more severe than I'd imagine )

It's out of focus but I'm pretty sure it's the Woodland Ring. Looks like whomever that is in the background is holding up his brooch too. This must have been a bling photo op or something. Yeah, I thought so. But just wanted to be sure. Thanks for confirming

I love seeing rings on fine-boned long fingers... so Thranduil's fuels my fascination
Awww, he has an owie? I volunteer to kiss it and make better! Seriously though, I hadn't noticed it before you mentioned it, but that does look like a band-aid on his thumb. Seems that even when you work with fake weapons you're bound to get nicked, sliced or poked every now and then. Heck, it may have even been a paper cut from his script. LoL! I think there's tons who volunteer... nay PAY to kiss it all better Though, with the owie, I kinda think it's not a bling shot per se, just a candid btw while on BTS?
