If you happen to remember the title of that book, let me know. I still have some Silm reading to do but this sounds like an interesting read as well. Heh that's a bit embarrassing for those poor Elves. Not so fair now! Reminds me of the occassional 'fb surprise tag' my friends put up when I haven't had the chance to delete them in time.

That's insane. No one that tall can fit in such a tiny car And re your question about where Thranduil keeps his second sword when not in battle. I've been wondering that same thing. I think he wears the one at home (as we see in DOS) and probably dusts off the other one when going to batlle. Or when he steps outside his Halls to explore the more dangerous parts of Mirkwood. When not in use, he might keep his second sword by his nightstand?

Question though: If the Elk and Legolas were in the same quicksand, who would Thranduil save? aka would you vote for FLAST or TEAM (Thranduil Elvenking and Moose)? Ahh trick question. Of course Thrandy would save his beloved Moose. Leggy can take care of himself I'm sure So yeey team TEAM! Ha that does sound a bit strange.
CLICK: One person online actually asked what the name of the elk you’re riding was. LP: Actually there’s an actor playing the Elk you should ask. It’s a horse named Moose. Playing the elk. ( source) Always loved the thought of a horse named Moose playing the War-Elk. Thanks for the quote. I had read it a while ago but I'd stored that info somewhere in a deep and sleepy corner of my mind and forgot all about it. It's some weird name to give your horse but obviously it suits him just fine.

I might need to read your post a little more carefully. I think I might be one of the posters who don't always follow the guidelines precisely (unintentionally of course, but I dó normally check if my img size is below 500 w/h). It's just that I always seem to have a bit of a discussion with the buttons and it keeps on messing up my text when I use the quote/reply button and it sure as hell doesn't work when I want to post an image/link the conventional way. Making clicky's is a bit of a challenge as well and after 3 times I usually give up. But that's after I have put up a massive temper tantrum whishing all the clicky's I'm about to make a very slow and painful death. Of course... none of these problems are any of my fault Nooooo way, of course not. I love the internet and the internet loves me so it must be the evil board buttons in compliance with my devilish laptop. But perhaps I'll have more luck with it when I actually start reading the board's manual (it's just sad the textbox incl all the buttons isn't very user friendly at times).

It's so good of you to have stepped into the light And what a fine choice to grace the TA thread with your very first post! Thanks so much for the art, I haven't seen some of them before The links aren't clicky's, but as you can read in the post righ above this one, I'm probably not the best person to explain how to make workable clicky's Whenever I typ in an url into the textbox though, it automatically changes into a clicky so that's one thing I don't have to hassle with. *THUD* Whoa...! We have a HTR (= High Thud Risk) alert for these type of images It's sooooo pretty... I have made a img out of it. Hope you don't mind Soooooo HTR alert

Luckily you're not the only one with posting difficulties. There are some very dedicated and smart ppl around the TA thread that I'm sure will help you if you have any questions. Of course you can ask me as well but seeing as I find myself in the midst of a clicky-war , I might not be the most suitable person to actually help you understand. But Lurker just posted a great topic called: IMPORTANT README for TA posters: Information on posting, and adding images. I think that might be good reading for the both of us. Btw I usually use [ i m g ]urlgoeshere[ / i m g ] but without the space to post a image. But *apparently* there is an easier way that might have something to do with clicking the image-button (second to your right) on top of this textbox. And we looooooves the artwork precioussssss. Don't hesitate to post more of the goodness

You might want to refer to the README I just made on how to make clickable links and add images and try again with making the URLs live? Have fun and hope to see you around! .

But *apparently* there is an easier way that might have something to do with clicking the image-button (second to your right) on top of this textbox. Not sure if I'm getting it correct, but seems like you're in basic editor mode? Well, if it's not by choice... Do you see a "Switch to Advanced Editor" button below the text input box?If you click that, you should see a bunch of icons at the top of the box like in Word, including icons for making URLs and adding images at the right end of the icon parade. Life might be easier using the Advanced Editor. Also you should be able to default your editor choice in your Profile. Check out the TORn FAQ for more instructions. If I'm poking my nose in for nothing, just ignore

Yeah, they made some *interesting* juxtaposition choices for the tapestry. I don't think Tauriel looks quite as odd as some people do, but something is not quite right. I dunno, it's freaking the hell outta me
With Elrond, from a distance it does look like he's the jerk who came between them, lol , but if you zoom in on him, you can see that he's actually looking off to the left, not at Galadriel and Gandalf. I notice that the smoke/dust and leaves seem to be blowing from that direction too, so maybe something wicked this way comes? *scrunches eyes and studies Elrond* you're right! Interesting. i do hope that G&G pose is just for the tapestry. Otherwise it's gonna be just meh, to me, when it happens and I don't want meh in BotFA

... how can any images in these threads be considered clutter? Seriously, I really don't get how quotes which include images is clutter unless quoting text itself is considered clutter. Because the QUOTE and REPLY features are doing their job, to me. I can clearly tell where a quote start and end, and where the poster's thoughts goes. Granted, it could be a problem if we start getting nested (or layering as you put it) quotes/reply to, but that problem with nested quotes you seem to encounter isn't that prevalent on these threads imo. My experience when I went through the first threads was painful as I was in Flat Mode and I had trouble understanding posts which alluded to images only. It was troublesome to go and find the preceding post the post I'm reading was replying to, and then go back to the post I was reading. All that back and forth was tiring. When I finally figured out Threaded Mode, the lack of images which posts alluded to was still a problem to me, though Threading made it so much easier to follow a conversation. Anyway, "clutter" seems so subjective. Because how can a conversation be tough to follow unless one was just cutting in mid-convo and didn't want to actually go and see what the preceding bits were? And I don't get why posters have to give special consideration to STV readers, flat-moders or not - you can lead a cow/camel to water and all that. There's plenty of "clutter" since thread one (which isn't just a TA phenomenon, imo), and silent thread visitors who didn't participate then aren't suddenly going to start now just cos, I don't think. *looks to STV gallery* Right? *silence* See? ETA: I'm rusty and shaky on servers/hosting and stuff but I'd think images that's been uploaded to TORn aren't the frown-causing concern to MODs when being quoted. *shrug*

Until you said it I hadn't noticed that Thranduil's sword is drawn! Wow! I wonder if he was about to charge into battle or something? Just me own theory
Well, IIRC, the very first Thranduil appreciation thread actually got to 400 posts before the Mods realized just how obsessive we all really are. I think that one more than made up for the lack of 250-post-threads now. Still, we can always try. Can we really break through the Girdle of Modlian I remember reading the lockpost on #1 which said 300 is the limit, or some such higher than 200 number. Then when 2 got locked I was all agog, cos we were nowhere near that higher number - I think I had like 10 replies to vanima and you at that time and was wondering if it was something I did . From #3 though, it's been consistently 200. I wonder if the 200 limit is to padding on considerations for images .

... nope. Sorry. All I remember is it was written by a male author and is set in the space-travelling future. It was a grand cross-galaxy space epic... I do believe it had seriously funny satirical politics and was meant to be part of a series but I don't think I ever found the rest of it. Been too long since I read it ... but I'll certainly keep thinking because I'd want to get my hands on it again too. Let you know if the lightbulb goes off.
Heh that's a bit embarrassing for those poor Elves. Not so fair now! Reminds me of the occassional 'fb surprise tag' my friends put up when I haven't had the chance to delete them in time. Haha... though Thranduil's looks the least embarrassing, don't you think?

That's insane. No one that tall can fit in such a tiny car And he certainly fits in, though I think juuuuust.
Just don't try to fit anyone in the backseat at the same time he's driving. .
And re your question about where Thranduil keeps his second sword when not in battle. I've been wondering that same thing. I think he wears the one at home (as we see in DOS) and probably dusts off the other one when going to batlle. Or when he steps outside his Halls to explore the more dangerous parts of Mirkwood. When not in use, he might keep his second sword by his nightstand? I'd think he's either - one of those pro-level people who's so attuned to each weapon he uses, he's particular about which sword goes where, and in that case, would only wear his main sword at home and yes, just dust off the secondary sword when he goes out for adventure - or he's equally comfortable with either sword in either hand, then he'd definitely be keeping the one out of rotation by his nightstand
