Just FYI, the Hobbit shots that appear are all from AUJ, in which there isn't a lot of Elvenking to be seen. The AUJ images were made last year by DanielLB, who volunteered his time to make them and worked with Calisuri to get them added into the rotation. If you want to see some new ones and are willing to help make them, I suggest PMing Daniel for tips on the process. In addition to Thranduil, it'd be nice to see some Smaug and Beorn, I think.

*prepares for onslaught of imagery* I may have to take a day off work to devote to these (I wish!) and to deal with the resulting thuddery! RL is so inconvenient though
Where did that profile shot originate from? I never heard of the source - was it the Chinese mag that released the other pics? I really really like it anyway, and it's also proving to lend itself so wonderfully to fan art. I also like the two IMG pics you've posted above your linkee lists. In both, you can see thought / concern in his eyes. Haven't seen these exact shots before. Eh, no, different source from that Chines mag. It's from the 2015 Annual, which is available in the UK, and is published (apparently) under a different title in the US. Here's the start of the subthread, and the profile pic source is posted here. (Hmm... how are you viewing posts? In flat mode? Maybe the conversation flow might make more sense if you viewed in Threaded mode. Just a thought.)
While we're talking about images, has anyone ever noticed a Thranduil image appear in the 'ring' at top left of the TORn page? I previously thought it was all images from LOTR but I have since seen TH dwarves appear. If there's no Thrandy in the rotate, we really should put our footses down. You know, I do keep seeing mostly Dwarves and Wizard, Elrond, Galadriel and Bilbo on occasion. Definitely not caught sight of Thranddy. I thought it was a glitch, chance, or some bias

http://aprilwindworld.tumblr.com/.../i-cant-stop-looking That is some mighty fine *new* picture I hadn't seen before. Too bad it's a LR image, but it's bloated so even though it's a bit blurry we can still see enough of Thranduil. http://anonymus-number6969.tumblr.com/...legolas-an-thranduil http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/...23db079c7d3b7e56.jpg Seriously all I see here is perfect hair *sigh* Hopefully this will be a new addition to the EE of DOS. Oh I just found out today that DOS EE will be released November 12th over here!! Head tilts! http://thecrownlesskings.tumblr.com/post/96171684754 Kudo's to the one who has put all the head tilts on one page. Words cannot describe how good looking Thranduil is while doing that, it is his thing. http://leepace-daily.tumblr.com/post/96361970265 *Squeees* hello no HTR alert over here? This is one of my favourite moments in DOS. The look on Leggy's face is priceless and Thranduil looks so aloof http://jetblacktempest.tumblr.com/...43290/father-and-son Nice, I like the colouring done to Legolas (green) and Thranduil (red). Sets the mood just right for those two I think, the colours suit them very well. Legolas in green because he's a child of the forest and Thranduil in his kingly red. (For you, VValar) http://mingku619.tumblr.com/.../thranduil-and-ronan Many many thanks That is just a perfect picture! I saved it And I would so pay to see that movie with both Thranduil and Ronan in it. Although not sure if it would work out very well for Thranduil because Ronan is insanely strong and powerful and both are quite the personalities http://xiaozaozi.tumblr.com/...87975/goodnight-kiss Very very cute! I imagine little Legolas climbing up the table where Thranduil is working for a quick cuddle http://wanderwonderly.tumblr.com/...randuil-recycles-too I would laugh my ass off if I had been there hehe http://jhuu-kauer.tumblr.com/post/96363489045 Such pretty eyes those two have http://thorinds.tumblr.com/...t-thranduil-actually Lol, great inscription http://eruna27.tumblr.com/...rocks-it-better-than Hehe... it reminds me of this image where Thranduil wonders who claimed Arwen fairest of all Elves for clearly they have not seen Legolas yet. You know which pic I'm talking about? http://winded-leaf.tumblr.com/...the-best-of-lee-pace Ahhh cute and so simple yet effectively explained. Love all three of them http://richardrmitage.tumblr.com/...how-son-got-schooled Haha this one made me laugh out loud read it again and laughed a second time About the entire HCF section, I like them all. http://larygo.tumblr.com/...es-minchin-iii-amc-x http://claud51.tumblr.com/...what-inspires-people Especially those. *Sigh* Must start watching HCF. http://nyyneeshms.tumblr.com/post/96320005046 http://nats-little-fantasy-world.tumblr.com/post/96470459526 Looking very handsome http://lapetitadolfina.tumblr.com/...6072710607/dat-smile Ahh cute and sweet Ned and that smile... http://sassmasterradagast.tumblr.com/...67970/ned-isnt-happy I just like all those different goofy faces he makes. It makes him so adorable and likable. And that's a very deadly combo. http://elf-lee-ng-pace.tumblr.com/post/97327519058
I like the Original best, I was thudding all over the place when I saw that. But this isn't too bad either http://gedebe.tumblr.com/...96257127855/lee-pace He's got the *intense Thranduil eyes* here http://menculture-vulture.tumblr.com/post/96241834353 Oef, this really isn't healthy viewing http://queeenslight.tumblr.com/post/97052067784 I just don't know how to respond to this *THUD* Well that was a fun ride!!

At the top of the post Thanks for letting me know what you enjoyed. I know! *sigh* Oh yay for November. I think we might get it around the same or a few days after the US, given the tendency to follow stateside release schedule. There was a conversation about Thranduil/LP's headtilts a while back. So the appreciation you've got is in good company Vague recollection... please enlighten if you've got the pic handy.
Well that was a fun ride!! Kudos for risking post-death to put your responses up. BTW I checked, no mods online at the moment it seems. .

Heheh... you should know by now, the WWs are fraught with HTR And I've decided to put a general HTR alert at the top of WWs going forward. If we get to know anything I'd think it will be in one of the two WETA books for BotFA. I'd take it Awww. You're welcome. Here's to good starts to the week!

Found it Yeah, now I remember! Classic! Thanks for putting it up!
Yeah I had to risk a lot by clicking on all the URL's but it was my pleasure and I figured if you didn't die a premature death I would probably be fine as well (though there were some close calls) My trick for avoiding post-death: I check "Who's Online" before I click Post Reply. And even if there's no one mod in that list, I still copy out my reply before hitting Post Reply. So if something bad happens I can post it in the new thread

I've actually made some Desolation of Smaug ones (21 in total) to be added to the forum. And Thranduil appears in one of them, as well as Smaug, Beorn and Bard. I haven't gotten around to asking Calisuri yet. *Adds on to do to list*

I couldn't make anything out of the words, thanks for clearing it up Yeah, mid November we'll find out. I try my best not to expect too much out of it though. Because I know I'll only disappoint myself when we don't get to see nearly as much Thranduil as we would like Still, a extended scene (or a new one, the one with Leggy...!) would be immensely appreciated.

In Reply To I like the EE better obviously for there is more Pretty! of Pretty. Though for some reason I find Thranduil looking different in that scene. I don't really know how to explain it, maybe it's just me? I think it's the overall treatment for that scene. Everyone looked different, sorta flatter, to me too. Probably to evoke the sense it's an imagining by Bilbo since he would have heard of but not witnessed this scene? Hmm not sure if that's it. You're right about everyone looking slightely different in that scene though, I thought it was because we were looking at a memory, or an imangined memory of Bilbo at least since he wasn't there when it happend. But I don't think Thranduil looks different in that scene alone. I also find him different on (some of) the pictures of AUJ. F.e. comparing these: http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/...randuil_design_4.jpg http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/...rait_-_EmpireMag.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/...t/3/37/Thranduil.png With these http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/...E6y1rht77uo1_500.png (HTR alert, big clicky) http://walls-world.com/...ll-HD-Wallpapers.jpg http://gratianads90.files.wordpress.com/...tianalovelacecap.jpg I just think he looks very different from his AUJ look (apart from the Elk scene that is), I'm not really sure why. Is it the lightning, makeup, clothes??

At some point, all that may be left of the Sylvan are half-conscious disembodied spirits )....) At that point, Thranduil, who I believe would stay in ME regardless of hell or high water because of his love and sense of responsibility for his subjects, will see that there's no need and no one to keep him in ME.
I like the way you're thinking. Thranduil would do anything for his people, who he loves very dearly. So would they be fading for any reason and the only option to save their bodies and souls by sailing West (and seeing as there isn't anything left in ME anymore when both his family and subjects are either in the West already or craving to go there) I have no doubt he would make that decision.
He really doesn't strike me as the type to accept or be satisfied with the fate of ultimately being just a diminished version of himself, a wandering forgetful spirit just roaming ME until the end of days. And
Lastly, I feel that Thranduil will feel the tug for family, especially as his people dwindled. And he might want to spend time with the clan when he gets to the West rather than arrive there dead and languishing in the Halls of Mandos waiting his turn for re-embodiment (may be getting it wrong here but I think that's the deal with Mandos' pad). I think it's safe to say he's the one Elf who doesn't leave things to chance if he had any say in the matter. He wants things done on his terms.
Love your description of him, he is a very strong minded Elf. I think you're right too, I don't think Thranduil would give that choice of chance to anyone but himself. So when he finally decides it's time, it's time.

*regains consciousness, stares forever... and finally takes eyes away for a moment* Thranduil looks concerned here doesn't he? Turning back because he heard something? Legolas calling "Adar, wait up?" perhaps? But the oncoming orc mob says otherwise... hmmm Great find, VValar! .

I just think he looks very different from his AUJ look (apart from the Elk scene that is), I'm not really sure why. Is it the lightning, makeup, clothes?? I'm just going back to the thought the treatment for the scene sort of flattens everyone's features. If you look at Thorin, yes, a big sacrifice of time for Thranduil , he looks sort of different with that same flattened features feel. Thror's beard saved him. So there's no other point of reference for the effect. But yeah, based on both Thorin and Thranduil's facial shots, I think it's the scene lighting/treatment/whachamacallit.
