From El Anillo único, we have two covers, one of them playing Thorin in armour and among other things there seems to be THE BATS! from Dol Guldur, or ím mistaken. Can anyone see other details? http://elanillounico.com/v5/wp-content/gallery/el-hobbit-material-promocional-de-las-peliculas/albumlbdlce.jpg the Brian Sibley book´s cover http://elanillounico.com/v5/wp-content/gallery/el-hobbit-material-promocional-de-las-peliculas/guialbdlce.jpg And a new still of Bard http://elanillounico.com/v5/wp-content/gallery/la-batalla-de-los-cinco-ejercitos/hobbitlbdlce12.jpg

Azog looks like a real life creature!! This is finally a HUGE improvement in his design!
I believe that Azog and Bolg are possibly the only two orcs who may be an exception to the typical evil nature of an orc. Azog had brought up his son, well enough that he actually acknowledges him as his own son. That is a first for any orc. And Bolg sets out to march upon Erebor in vengeance of his fathers death. How many orcs will Try and avenge another dead orc? Most will just forget about the dead one. This gives me hope that Orcs, have some traits of good in them, even if it is small aspects.

In the corner next to Gandalf I see Dwarves in armor and a banner that clearly shows a Raven. Could those be the Dwarves from the Iron Hills?

The Beacons of Minas Tirith....
[In reply to]

I wonder if the moment that Thorin sends message to Dain via the raven(s) will be made as dramatic as the scene of the lighting of the beacons of Minas Tirith when Gondor called for Rohan's aid. Since Peter Jackson has included so many references to the Lord of the Rings films in the Hobbit films, I wouldn't be surprised if he will punch up the drama during Erebor's call for aid. I could picture a montage with ravens and thrushes traveling to the seven dwarven clans, and then the Longbeards, Firebeards, Broadbeams, Ironfists, Stiffbeards, Blacklocks and Stonefoots marshaling their forces on rams and boars and whatever other beasts each kingdom uses. Or perhaps not, since Thorin wouldn't have the Arkenstone and supposedly be unable to get the other clans to rally; unless Dain would be shown doing that on his own...

Ever since the the movies were announced I've imagined the scene with birds flying all over the land spreading news of Smaug's death and seeking aid from the Iron Hills. I hope they do something like that.

I believe part of the reason why most stuff in AUJ looked fake was because of the terrible colour grading that gave everything an unnatural look. Even the Rivendell sky looks like Azog's skin... all bluey-orangey-fluidy. I know PJ was going for a more fairytale look, but it made even lovely places like Rivendell look unbelievable. I think the same goes for Azog. He already looked much more realistic in DOS, and in this picture where the entire image seems to have a sort of "grain" texture applied on it, he doesn't look CGI anymore.

But zooming in on Azog's body and neck, there appears to be multiple colors, tones, and textures, especially around the neck, that I feel are a huge improvement over anything we've seen in the past. But I have to agree that the color grading is/was a mess in AUJ.

OMG. "Into the Storm", seeing the teaser on the big screen, and now these new images. A good day . And Thorin looks incredible, the armor looks incredible. Thank you again - terrific find. I had been wondering when book covers and calenders would get leaked, 'coz that's how we got our first DOS peeks last summer re Beorn and the dwarves in Dale, and some other shots (since one of those was Beorn chopping wood, LOL will we FINALLY see that?)

I thought Azog looked really cool in AUJ but you could tell they had more time to work on him in DOS. I thought Rivendell though in AUJ looked every bit as good as it did the first time we saw it in LOTR.

Rivendell looked good in AUJ, just not as real as it did in LOTR

After seeing Rivendell in FOTR, I felt like it could be a real place. Everything felt organic - right from the buildings, to the trees, to the sky. In AUJ, it was the sky and the atmosphere that made it look surreal. Like it was someplace *not* of this world. The sun and the sky were way too vibrant... like someone swung the brightness and contrast slider all the way up in Photoshop. I don't disagree that it looked "good". For me it just didn't feel real. If I had seen Rivendell for the first time in AUJ (without seeing it in LOTR), it wouldn't have moved me much. It could've been on Pandora for all I knew :) But since I'd seen Rivendell in FOTR, it was more nostalgic than anything else to see it again in AUJ. I wished they would've changed the grading in the EE, but oh well
