Thanks for posting this! It looks like an interesting feature. 
By the way, did anyone else notice the runes written on the prop of King Thror's head? They quite clearly spell AZOG! You can see them well in these screencaps:

So it's similar to the book, only in this case the name seems to be carved instead of branded. Gotta love the attention to detail. 
By the way, this isn't actually visible in the movie, is it? I know the scene is quite brief and there might not be enough of a close-up to get a good look. Oh well, just something else to look for in subsequent viewings.

I thought they were just cuts. Perhaps we'll see Azog scar the head in the EE? Maybe it was deemed too gruesome for the theatrical release?

I just love the attention to detail that goes into these movies. Even if Thror was slain at the wrong time, it was done correctly otherwise. Great observation, and I can't wait to have that pause button to see if we really can see the runes in the movie!
By the way, even more lovely to look at than the runes on Thror's head: there are two cute pictures of Fili & Kili grinning up on the walls in the background.

....and I'm extremely pleased (EXTREMELY) that it's in Cirth Erebor rather than Old English Futhark (as almost everything else has been so far)
BUT
It annoys me in yet another way, in that the fact they're using Cirth Erebor -here- but not elsewhere shows a lack of consistency 
I suppose I can't be properly satisfied when it comes to runes 
But mega-awesome anyhow.
