For me it's OK [In reply to] Can't Post

Not bad. Not blown away, but OK (for me). For me Thorin, Bard, Galadriel and Gandalf are more appealing in that this one just seems a tad glossy? plastic-ey and doesn't bring the sense of grit/menace /sorrow etc. More like a model shoot (which I know EL was.) I wish somehow that she had been posed with her knife/knives close to her face, maybe. I actually was hoping for a BIT of dirt on hers since the banner shows her in a seemingly desperate pose - even tho elves seem to stay pretty clean most of the time.

But not bad - think Tauriel fans will be pleased.

And thank you for posting and satisfying our curiosity! Smile

Great character, great poster!

well, yes, there's a fair amount of SMOOTHING here. BUT Wink that "pore" filter would have been terrible on her, so think it's OK Cool even if it does remind me a bit of a mascara advertisement.

But it's alright and again think Tauriel fans can breathe a sigh of relief.Cool

Disappointed [In reply to] Can't Post

Kinda disappointed we won't get any Sauron or Azog poster. What about the evil side? Maybe even Bolg? PJ..... :(

I wanna see a scene where we see Sauron walking the steps INSIDE of Bara-Dur and taking his seat upon his dark throne and summoning the eye, looking into the camera and then BAM! THE END.

-My thoughts on the best ending scene/post credit scene on TABA.

it is interesting [In reply to] Can't Post

that the other posters feature the characters dirtied up (in Thorin's case quite bloody too), and with skin pores and other details very visible. Tauriel is in pristine condition here though. Same can be said of Galadriel. Interesting gender implications there, perhaps.

am optimistic re Thranduil too [In reply to] Can't Post

There's a REASON Lee Pace's Thranduil - the eyes in particular - were used in the trailers and the opening of his scene in DOS. Beautiful eyes, and re DOS (to me) there was depth, mystery, intelligence, cunning, agelessness, superiority, and "feyness" in a single shot.

While all the actors can "speak" with their eyes of course, just sayin' like Thorin and Bilbo there's good reason PJ has used tight face shots with these actors (or at least when PJ has, I found it striking and effective).

E.g. you would have to work at it to mess up Thranduil tho *gloomily* it could be done.Frown But re the trailer w. the kind of B/W scene of Dale, Thranduil is an amazing figure in the stark coloration, so think the dark gritty desaturated tones of these releases would work well with him - if they go that route. I could see it as a more all-white image like Galadriel's, kind of.

On the other hand who knows - maybe Azog will be next?Shocked Or a real shocker if these were leading up to Dain or Beorn!Shocked

Perhaps but [In reply to] Can't Post

Maybe it's just basic in that both these females - CB in particular - in the films have fine skin IMO. The interesting treatment will be Thranduil, because for a man, Lee Pace seems to have a terrific complexion (I know everyone is wearing makeup but you still have to have something to work with, at least if you are going to do close-up shots).

So will Thranduil, who is arguably poreless (since a lot of us have seen him in HD on IMAX screens) get the PS "pore" filter, or will he be able to retain his flawlessness?Cool
