Little fan art!

Can't Post

Hi all, I hope that it is ok to post this here but I was very impressed with my four year old son's picture of "A Lord of the Rings Troll battling!" He hasn't been allowed to see the films yet being just four but living in our house he is rather immersed in the whole Tolkien world and we do get a lot of art work! Hope it is ok to post it here, just thought some may enjoy it. Thank you for looking!

It's very good! The troll has a particulary nasty look in it's eye and the hammer looks vicious! Is that Legolas in the green? Are the other characters red to show that they are bleeding and are the red lines blood?? Yikes!

Yes, it's Legolas in green with the bow, Aragorn next to him ("the one daddy likes") Frodo hanging on, and the others are baddies. No, the red isn't blood (Thank goodness but he is a boy!), in his words "it's just stuff" . He's settled down in bed now but I quickly asked him. Thanks for your response.

Important stuff no doubt, I expect! I used to love drawing with felt tips when I was little, but now I've moved on to pencil drawing and I'm hoping to put some of my stuff here too when I've got the time to draw again!

I'd love to see it. I love to draw and paint with water colours but I'm more of a flowers or imagination painter and I've never attempted any like whet I've seen posted on here. Fantastic art work!!!

even the youngest amongst us fans find Lord of the Rings inspirational for creating art. I think it is wonderful, too, that you give him eth space to do that. thank you for sharing it. DoN

And I don't mean that in a sarcastic way. It really is quite unique and captures the intensity and scale of the battle. It's also very random which I love! My friend saw it when I was in Tennessee and she loves it as well. Sometimes it's nice not having to worry about staying in the lines. It's awesome!

It's really an amazing picture, particularly for one so young who has never seen the movies. It fits in so well with the fight in the Chamber of Mazarbul in Moria, doesn't it? The troll looks really evil here.

Our 4 year old is dying to watch the films but we think he's too young and he'll be devastated if he sees the troll die as he loves them so. We constantly have to say monsters and creatures are "asleep" or "gone to their cave to rest" as he gets so upset. I think seeing a troll killed would totally traumatise him!

4 is a bit too young for LotR anyway; some parts would be too scary, I believe. (I know *adults* who closed their eyes sometimes!!) And when he loves the troll, not sees it as a bad monster, he would be devastated, yes. The Moria troll looked more stupid and sad than bad, I think - much more nice than the ones in Gondor. That wouldn't help, either. But I can imagine how difficult it is to have to keep him from the movie!
