Thanks again to Alveric for seeing through that palantir gag. We've been watching the EE DVDs one disc at a time this week, and I'm really enjoying what Sean Bean brought to the role of Boromir. Also, it's -15C outside, with snow on the way. How fitting that there's an image to tie all this together:

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. I reckon there'll be more Tornfolk knocking on your door. Just pull the chairs round the fire and offer em maple syrup with their pancakes. It's the weekend, eh!

Author unknown, I changed punctuation It's winter in Saskatchewan And the gentle breezes blow, Seventy miles an hour At thirty-five below. Oh, how I love Saskatchewan When the snow's up to your butt, You take a breath of winter And your nose gets frozen shut. Yes, the weather here is wonderful, So I guess I'll hang around, I could never leave Saskatchewan -- 'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

Though Saskatchewan is the opposite of Caradhras, being flatter than Nebraska.

You managed to see through my nefarious plan but fell for it nonetheless! Ha HA! At last! The prize is mine! Cheers, mate! Muttley says don't eat any yellow snow.

The brilliance of your plan was its simplicity. Powerless am I in the face of your nefariousness.
