Nori Needle-Felted Wool Doll Can't Post

Hi, again!

The Nori doll is finished, and Bifur is just about done! Am going to post some pictures of Nori here, but you can see them larger here:
http://sarahbethonline.com/fogleberries/nori.html

Nori stands 9-1/2" tall to the tip of his fancy hair (he's a 9-inch doll --- with a very tall hair-do!) and weighs a total of 3-3/4 ounces. He has a dozen different types of wool and fiber on him, which is the most that I've used on any one doll so far! He's really hard to photograph, though, because the dark wool colors on him just don't react well to a camera flash or lights.

I made a photo chart showing the different types of wool in his boots and basic body. Here is a link to the photo, because it is too big to post here:

Two photos are below, and I'll post a couple more photos in another reply. :) Nori is going to go to the State Fair this year!

More Nori Photos [In reply to] Can't Post

Here are a couple more photos . . .

It took three evenings on braiding and felting to do the hair and beard. In fact, I had to felt on hair supporters to his head for the side bits to stay in shape! One more photo coming to show what the wool for Nori looked like before felting started.

Photo of Nori's Wool Before Felting [In reply to] Can't Post

And here is the last one . . .
This picture shows the wool for Nori (minus his skin and hair) before I started felting him. I buy all my wool dyed and ready for felting, instead of dying it myself. :)

Thank you for including the fiber info. [In reply to] Can't Post

Jealous fiber nerd is jealous (Qiviut!). And impressed, as always!
I kinda 'squeee'-ed a bit over those itty-bitty boots. =)

Thanks! [In reply to] Can't Post

Glad you enjoyed the fiber picture. :) I have over 125 colors of wool and fiber. Just went to a fiber show this weekend, actually, and got a few more things! I'll have to take a picture of all the wool to post here sometime.

Fantastic work [In reply to] Can't Post

I think the planned ME museum in NZ should have a "fan work" section, and your dolls would be definite candidates for display. IMO they are that good. Amazing work and ADORABLEHeartHeartHeart

Very Sweet . . . [In reply to] Can't Post

That's very sweet of you. Thank you! I just finished Bifur a couple of days ago, so I need to get a chance to take pictures of him. I would very much like to take the set (as soon as it's done!) and display it somewhere --- like entering it in an art show. However, all of the things that I've looked into so far would charge me quite a lot to either display or enter. :) Once the set is finished, though, I really do hope to take them a few places for others to enjoy. We live in the Mid-West of the USA . . . which isn't exactly a hot spot for Middle Earth fans. :)

The folks at Stansborough Farm (I've sent photos of the dolls to them!) are really encouraging me to try making the LotR Hobbits . . . once the dwarves are finished. I think that might be really cool, too!

So impressive [In reply to] Can't Post

Your work is amazing, and I wholeheartedly agree with the other poster that it deserves to be seen. It's wonderful. Smile
