Honestly I don't think the original trilogy is that great overall (frankly I found Mad Max kinda...boring), Fury Road though a pretty weak storyline merged the best elements of the original films (the stunts, atmosphere, mysterious protagonist) with vastly improved cinematography, better special effects and pacing, a great soundtrack and solid performances from the leads, Furiosa is probably the most interesting character in the series so far...
Can't wait for the sequel...
