Widely considered to be the best Western ever made, its influence extends into virtually every action movie made since. And Ennio Morricone's score was groundbreaking.

It is the only one I have seen of the films above. If you've ever seen either Kurusawa's Yojimbo or its sequel Sanjuro then I would recommend you check out A Fistful of Dollars which is a remake of the former. If you like that, you should also see For a Few Dollars More. Once Upon a Time in the West rivals the reputation of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

I prefer Community's homage to Sergio Leone. The director of this episode, Joe Russo, was hired to direct Captain America: The Winter Soldier because of it. https://youtu.be/7C8DNpt9bXk Even the opening credits and music were changed to imitate those of a Leone Western. https://youtu.be/LeK7TdhiEZI

I picked “Once Upon a Time in the West”, just very slightly over “Good, Bad, Ugly”. I love the opening scene where Elam has it out with the fly. And those five-minute close-ups of Bronson’s eyes – with that haunting sound-track.
I’ve got the music from both movies on the hard-drive in my car…
