I'm out jogging about 4 miles almost every day. [In reply to] Can't Post

In the winter if there is snow or ice on the road I'll walk instead. When the weather is warm, I swim as often as I can. Occasionally I get out paddling in a kayak.

I generally walk for exercise every weekday. [In reply to] Can't Post

However, this is not a very efficient form of exercise and it takes so darn long...unfortunately it is one of the first things to get cut if I don't manage my time well and other more urgent tasks need to be done. Unsure On the other hand, it's a lovely thing to do for myself in nice weather! Wink

Running, once upon a time [In reply to] Can't Post

I used to run 50+ miles per week. Now I'm doing good if I run that many miles in a year. Life caught up with me, and I find it more difficult to make time to run; (or, rather, to wake up early enough to make time to run.)
I also used to weight train, but like a runner does--not like those buff guys at the gym.

Maybe this will be the year that I'll get back into it. Wish me luck/determination/discipline/awakeness, friends.

Mostly walking, nowadays. [In reply to] Can't Post

I used to be a fairly serious (though not very fast) runner. I did 8 marathons and a bunch of shorter races from the 80's to ~2009, when my hip gave our and had to be replaced. Since then I walk regularly. Since last April I've been on a Fitbit 10,000 steps/day regime, which is challenging for a walker (takes a lot of time) but a good challenge.

I also work out with weights once or twice a week, take 2 Pilates classes (one mat, one private with Reformer), and yoga once a week.

I'm definitely at the "use it or lose it" stage of life, and want to stay fit as long as I can, because I can see the toll on my friends who slack off!

Lots of exercise! [In reply to] Can't Post

I put in 50 minutes almost daily, it can be walking, elliptical, yoga/pilates or working out with handweights. I'm trying to get back into running, just started doing the jog/walk on my treadmill. I'm about as obsessed with exercise/weight maintenance as I am with Thorin!EvilHeart I'm sure Thorin would approve, haha! By my life, I will not gain a ssssingle pound - not one ounce of it!

Well... [In reply to] Can't Post

Iced down coolers full of water and wastewater samples are really heavy.

And inspecting industrial facilities, construction sites, storm drains, and rivers requires a lot of walking, but I don't tend to fall in all that much anymore so swimming is minimal.

Then when I get home there's the family dogs. Unfortunately, by the time they all get walked I'm almost too tired to exercise.

Right now: next to never [In reply to] Can't Post

I try to go swimming once a week and I guess you could call my weekend walks "exercise" if you're so inclined. There are people out here who would qualify my "I just need some fresh air" as a hike, but to me 15 km in flat country don't really count. But I guess that's what happens if you used to do serious exercise once, where the trainer would not call it a warm-up unless you were soaked in sweat. Then we were allowed to start proper training. Crazy
