....hanging out with shuya, CAhobbit, and Frodo For President. We went to a very cool club called the Hotel Cafe to see Beecake, Billy Boyd's band. We are all having a wonderful time, and then look who I run into:
I had the chance to speak to him after the band finished playing - he was very sweet and nice enough to pose for a photo. Viggo was there to support his friend Billy, too, but I have no photographic proof. You'll just have to take my word for it.

Oh, the days of Estrogen Island. I was a campaigner for Orli (oh yes, I was one of those fangirls) and have since moved on to other celebrity crushes. But DAMN that is a hot pic!!!! The prettiness....le sigh. Much needed, THANK YOU! I apologize for the yelling, BUT I CAN'T HELP IT.

I am pretty impressed Deej. That is perhaps the rarest of LOTR sightings, something like seeing a two-headed moose in the wild.

As we were getting ready to leave the club, he came in and ran into the VIP room so fast there was no time. Orlando, on the other hand, was walking around and somewhat accessable the whole night.

I was so afraid that Orlando was losing touch with his brothers. To know that Viggo, Orlando, Billy... and I'm sure Andy and/or Sean Astin may be about the place... just makes me giddy happy. If Elijah wasn't in England filming Oxford Murders, you can bet he'd be there too. I know the boys don't get many opportunities to gather and hang out as much as they once did... so this just absolutely makes my day! Thanks for this. It's fantastic!

Great picture of you and that other guy. So glad something wonderful happened!

Did you have "the book" with you? And Viggo too?? Major swoon there! ;-> I was thinking of you folks tonight - remember when you were in Pittsburgh in July 2005 to see The Lord of the Rings Symphony? Jim and I were at the Symphony tonight, and we went to the Rennaisance Hotel before the concert for a drink. What a neat night that was. Tonight was pretty neat too - we got to hear the amazing Julia Fisher perform Beethoven's violin concerto.

Okay- here is a recap of the weekend so far. On Friday night, CAhobbit, shuya and I go down to Hollywood to see Beecake. We got there around 7, and with 5 other bands playing before Beecake's 11pm performance, we decided to walk around for a little white and check out Sunset blvd and the Walk of Fame. That took all of 30 minutes, and then we went back to the club to get a decent spot for the bands. I could not tell you the names of the other performers (you can probably find them on Hotel Cafe's website), but they were alright - no one really stood out for me. Finally, when Beecake started to set up, CAhobbit and I decided to move a little closer to the stage. I looked over at her and was going to tell her something, when the guy standing right next to her talking to his friends caught my eye. It took me only a second and to hear his voice to realize it was Orlando. I looked at CA as if to say 'Is that really who I think it is?' She nodded, and I almost fell over. I wanted to say hello to him, but then the band started to perform and I had lost my chance. According to a friend, James Blunt was one of the guys hanging out with him, but it was so dark I really couldn't tell. Beecake were really good - besides Billy's voice, I really liked their musical style (sort of blusey but rocking as well. A couple of times Orlando would yell out 'Ya, Billy!'. At one point a heckler yelled at Billy to 'Show us your c***!'. Billy responded "There will be no c*** fighting here tonight!" I later heard from a couple of people the heckler was Viggo! After the band finished playing, I looked toward the back of the tiny club, and saw Orlando standing in a corner. I downed the Corona I was drinking. walked over, said "Hello, I just wanted to say i'm a big fan, blah fangirl blah, would it be okay if I got a picture with you?" He said thanks so much darling and of course, and that was that. I've also heard from a few others that Dom was out in the parking lot behind the club, so that would make at least 3 of the Fellowship who showed up to support their friend. Fantastic. Today at ORC we hung out, went to a couple of Sideshow Collectable panels, saw Billy and David Wenham (who was very funny and nice). And if you already haven't, go see '300'! Tomorrow we'll go see Andy Serkis, and then it's off to New Zealand! Stay tuned....
