Richard Armitage  - 'nuff said! But I think I'd have to kick out Legolas in favor of Thranduil, wouldn't you agree, ladies? Lee Pace plays that part so well, and I think he really gets being an "elf." But a few additional reasons would be the gorgeous Laketown set - I have a desktop picture of the lake it was set against, SO beautiful - Luke Evans making a terrific Bard, and that fantastic Barrels out of Bonds scene, complete with Bombur the bouncing orc-crusher! And I don't care what anyone says, I am really looking forward to the "dwarves charging on rams" scene in BOTFA, it will be AWWSOME! And really, nobody's ever done anything like that in a movie before. Remember how much trouble Gimli had on horseback? Makes sense that they'd choose smaller animals, and it's super original.
