The Hobbit Chronicle IV: Cloaks & Daggers

Weta has posted some sample pages and spreads on their website alongwith the pre-order option for autographed copies. Looks like an earlier release date than Amazon offers too. NZ must be getting them sooner than the US. Linky link url ... http://www.wetanz.com/chronicles-cloaks-and-daggers-signed/ (sorry, I just cannot figure out how to make links clickable on this forum - thanks in advance to anyone who can post a working link)

I like these a lot, but they are a bit on the expensive side. But all those details on weapons and armor is too good to pass up!
"It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule." Gandalf, "The Last Debate."

So did the preorder tonight. Never got one of the autographed books so this should be fun.

Though I have all the chronicles books but with the amount of material we have in the making off sometimes feel t hat two books per movie are too much

...and I have to say, it's not really worth the wait (they are shipped from NZ). Half of the fun of a signed copy is the memory of getting it signed. So for "Smaug" and "Art&Design 4" I go for unsigned copies from Amazon, hoping that Daniel Falconer travels to a RingCon or a HobbitCon once again, like he did 2013.

Basically a guaranteed $10 "back," with a possibility of getting the $50 one? And get a signed copy of the book? Sign me up.

The wait in this case might not be a wait.

It looks like NZ will have them earlier than everyone else.

Yeah, but what would you take out?

Looking at the books, they're packed with stuff. It's easy to say two is too much, but what would you trim out to squeeze two books (or three if you count the Smaug companion book) into just one? I'd rather have more books and the option of choosing which ones I want then have someone else deny me the chance to see the stuff at all, but that's just the way I roll. One book every six months or so also helps make the wait between movies more bearable.
