Between too opposite characters! Very interesting. Anyone care to enlighten me on their choice?

His story is so much different from Turin's. I so wish that JRRT would have been able to finish his story, instead of it ending right after Tuor enters Gondolin.

for a book full of characters... you have very few to choose from. :-) sorry... this should have been a reply to the main post and not to Brethil. Instead of deleting and reposting... I'll just leave it here.

Have you read the original Fall of Gondolin from ~1916 yet? While there are definitely some inconsistencies with the later writings, most of it is actually still very compatible. It's an excellent read, and it goes very in depth into the story. You should definitely check it out.

I've had HoME on my list for awhile now, but haven't gotten to dive into anything yet. Looking forward to it! Nice seeing you, btw.

because I love his character arc and the way in which,as a Man, he is accepted by the Elven society in Gondolin. However, I also like Finrod Felagund and also Luthien, because she has so much courage and faith. Do animals count? I like Huan too!

Have you read his background story in Unfinished Tales? It gives more insights into his character.

I believe I just have a slightly unrealistic wish that there was a novel akin to The Children of Húrin for Tuor's story. Oh well. I still have to read The Fall of Gondolin from the BoLT, so there's more yet for me to here about that story.

I honestly think there's enough material for Christopher to edit a book as a companion to CoH. I really wish he would, though at this stage, I doubt it will happen. Good to see you too I'm always around but rarely step in these days. Hope you're doing well!

That whole story of his ship and the Silmaril... so romantic and epic. Love it. It's a shame that JRRT never wrote more about his voyages. So much potential for sea-going adventures! For favorite Sil character not in this list, I'd choose Beren. I am in awe of his bravery and determination and integrity and devotion.

Lots of great characters in the Sil! I picked Earendil because he was willing to give up everything for a chance to save Middle Earth.
