This must be some sort of travelling outfit, as it's not the full armour we've seen so far for his fighting sequence in Dale.

I remember not liking the first glances I got of the outfit (if it's the same), but this doesn't look so bad. He looks very elvish!

Thranduil in armor I like that he's kept his antler broach. Let it not be said that the Elvenking does not maintain his fashion standards at all times!

The elf everyone seems to want more of. Personally I could go for some more epic snarking. If Thranduil isn't big on the PR posters (along w. Thorin and my beloved dwarves and Bilbo) re TABA WB should hang its head in shame. After all, there is so much here to work with.

And love the clasps they use on his coat, gorgeous, gorgeous costume details. As befits the King of the Woodland Elves, who at this point is the only elf I have ever really been fascinated by. Even if he imprisoned my beloved dwarves. On the wish list - Thorin and Thranduil have another lively exchange - I don't care if it's canon or not.

Great to see Thranduil in these. Love the look! Now. We need to see Thorin in all his glory and last but certainly not least the hero of our story: Bilbo Baggins.

Talk about being stunned, lol ..... I was on the telephone on one of those automated service calls, while I was reading posts here, when I opened this link. And I was supposed to enter my responses at the appropriate time - but I clicked on that link and .... I completely lost track of what the automated voice was babbling about, I lost my place entirely and had to start the call over again ! Totally worth it though .

I sure hope this is a sign of things to come and that we're going to get lots and lots of Thrandy promos for TABA. He is so complex and LP does such an excellent job with him that he really deserves more attention. This also better mean that LP will actually show up to the TABA premier, or so help me, I will track him down and drag him there myself!

And you can count me in!. If we once again get more massive presence of other elves instead of the one that really is in the story i'm going to burst something, or better, burst them something. Get back to the plot, WB people!

Another scene between Thorin and Thranduil would be very welcomed, the energy that Richard and Lee pull of each other is incredible (would love to see them working together again in another context). And considering all the major deviations we already had, this would be one i wouldn't mind at all, quite the opposite!. Oh, and of course Orcrist MUST be returned by Thranduil, i'll have nothing else. Recently i read this "The reason I love Thranduil so much is that, out of all the elves we’ve met in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, he’s the first one that really struck me as someone that clearly wasn’t human" X. and had to agree, it's the first of all the elves that really 'has it'. He really feels like an elf.

Since they already kind of blew it, I think, giving a sneak peek of some dwarf TABA gear with the DOS banners and the Thorin stamp, and there's been footage of Bilbo in a silvery shirt, might as well give us a good peek. They can keep Dain & co. under wraps if they want to be secretive about something. Unless PJ changed his mind and put other costumes on the Heirs of Durin later.

Even more fantastic to me was reading an article (wish I had bookmarked it) that the scene was LP's first on the Hobbit. Talk about being thrown into the deep end of the pool on your first day. RA and LP really do need to be teamed up again, if I were a producer I'd be looking for something special to cast the both of them into. Little wonder the Thorin/Thranduil scene seems to be one of the most talked-about scenes in DOS, even in the media and in interviews.

Terry Notary IIRC. Maybe he's telling LP how to fabulously slice an orc in half length-wise.

Since The Lord of the Rings' two major protagonists ... and Sam, too, come to think of it, were portrayed by American actors, it does seem fair to give The Hobbit a heavier British presence, at least in the "primary heroes" area, as well as primary villains. Though there is a bit of a dearth of Americans in The Hobbit, if Pace is the only one of us. Stephen Colbert's cameo probably triples the American presence, though. I've loved how they ultimately sort of expand from that to cast actors out of the entire Anglosphere (and beyond), but Tolkien's work has an innate Britishness that you don't want to mess with too much. Which is why the foursome of Freeman, McKellan, Armitage and Cumberbatch really, really works for me. Doubtless for a lot of the same reasons a BBC adaptation of Jane Austen tends to work better than a big Hollywood one. Ultimately, LOTR having a larger cast probably means the numbers are closer than I think, so it's really about the primary heroes.
