Estrogen Island - the dwarfpoll

Just a bit of random fun/curiosity here. So... with all the Thorin and Thranduil appreciation threads going on, calls for more Fili etc. I thought we could do with an eye candy poll. Let's see if there really is such a big Lobby for Aidan Turner and Richard Armitage or if their fans are just the noisiest. I'm talking actors, not actual dwarves, ladies! So, leaving aside all appropriate ages (that would leave me with three options) and other concerns, please step up to the plate and vote who's easiest on the eye in your opinion.

he looks like a Tolkien dwarf to me, so that makes him the most attractive. Now, when I get in an altogether different mood, RA's the man ! Look back....and it's even snowing!

Feel free to share if you like, but simply voting is perfectly fine. I guess I'm more in the "odd one out" department, but I knew that already.

As of today, I've been a Thorin/Armitage fan for exactly a year (has it really been that long), though the only other thing I've seen him in (unless of course you count The Phantom Menace, but that was a very small uncredited role, so I'm not sure if that counts) is North & South (which I've only seen once, I feel like such a bad fan). I'm only a year a three days younger than he is (seriously), but if we were born in the same year, I would be a month older, since I was born in July, not August (at 2:00 in the morning, if you want to know. Couldn't resist putting a Gandalf quote in there).

But when I logged onto my new computer last night, half of my photos were gone, including my whole TORn folder! Apparently, their file transfer didn't bring over everything. They should all be on my external hard drive, which they're currently scanning for nasty viruses, so once I get that back, I should be able to post some favorites. Never fear, we will have art to appreciate soon!

I lost my hard drive this past summer and lost all my photos, all my contacts, all my bookmarks and 3 novels in various stages of deshabille. My back up got corrupted when the computer crashed while downloading to the back up. A 2 month long data recovery got back ~ 2% of what was there in pieces. Be thankful you got something back, believe me.

The OS, hard drive and motherboard were all toast, although it took them several days to figure it out. I managed to do a back up to my external hard drive before it totally crashed, but I didn't actually check every single folder to make sure it all transferred over. They took a back up too, but it was after it got corrupted, so it looks like they didn't catch everything. So, once I get the external drive back, I will hopefully get them all back. I would really hate to lose all my family holiday photos and most of my travel photos. Sorry to hear you lost all of yours, plus your novels, that sucks.

RA looks a little Elven in that second picture (except for the stubble) Ugh computers! My hard drive died just before Christmas and I lost a lot of stuff. Unfortunately, no data could be salvaged and the online backup had stopped working without me realising. Hope you manage to get some more back

to promote the appreciation of fine art. Fortunately, I had done a backup to my external hard drive right before it crashed, and it did capture everything (and did not get infected), so I was able to get all my stuff back (phew!). However, interesting to hear that your online backup had stopped as I just set that up today and was thinking I might not need to do regular backups to the external drive. Think I will plan to do that just in case and be doubly protected.

If this concerned dwarves, my vote would be for Fili, but seeing as this is actors... *sigh* ...I just have to pick up my RA flag and wave it around. I'm a proud recruiter for the Armitage Army. *ahem* We maaaaay have just gotten a copy of BBC North & South and we're going to convert our mom by watching all four hours tomorrow, hopefully. *laughs evilly* In other news, I find it absolutely hilarious that Dean O'Gorman has one more vote than Aidan Turner. Yay for blond people!
