seeing as I thought DVD and Blu Ray sales also add to the gross and AUJ's EE did not come out until Oct/Nov. Do these sales not add to the overall gross?

I would think gross would be a better gauge than box office, but people put much more emphasis on box office (theaters only).

...are exactly that, tickets sold at the box office (or online nowadays). DVD etc sales are on top of that and for AUJ as I recall are about another $100m so AUJ is close to $1.2b all up.
