Confirmation Azog/Thorin [In reply to] Can't Post

Isn't that interview confirmation that Azog will not fight Thorin in the Bot5A?

Many of us Tolkien geeks will/are certainly (be) glad about that.

So... (spoiler) [In reply to] Can't Post

Thorin and Smaug come face to face in this movie? I guess that must be before Thorin does his imitation of Matthew McConaughey in "Reign of Fire" (well, except he's jumping away from a dragon instead of toward him).

That's getting pretty far away from Tolkien and sounds a bit like the idea of having Aragorn and Sauron sword fighting at the Black Gate (except this time there is no one to tell Peter "No!").

I'm getting this feeling as well. [In reply to] Can't Post

Hopefully, too much won't be made of this moment. We shall see.

You know... [In reply to] Can't Post

Tolkien did not in all cases have the best ideas. I think it's great to have Thorin face the Dragon.

I don't think so ! [In reply to] Can't Post

You mean because Richard spent so much time without meeting Manu ? I think it's just because Manu Benett performance is done during post production and that's why they didn't meet. Thorin will most certainly meet Azog in Bot5A the whole trilogy is builds up to this fight

Exactly. [In reply to] Can't Post

He stated he hadn't met Manu, even while we know his character and Manu's duelled one another on two separate occasions in AUJ.Smile So it is evident Armitage's statement in no way rules out their characters fighting again.
