Hm! [In reply to] Can't Post

Stephen Colbert as Lake-Town spy! Interesting!
And Lawrence Makoare as Bolg...
Leaving Conan Stevens out of this film it seems Unsure

Heh [In reply to] Can't Post

Conan Stevens should've stuck with Game Of Thrones. Tongue He got shafted twice. But at least we have Lawrence mo-capping Bolg, an expert at playing hero orcs, as it were.

Didn't he have health issues? [In reply to] Can't Post

And couldn't do mocap because of that?

I am sorry for him personally, but I am so glad we get a mocapped new Bolg design.

Interesting [In reply to] Can't Post

Interesting. It confirms that the White Council is not in at all. Only a very brief cameo for Galadriel and none Lee or Weaving.

Stevens as Bolg seems out. Also no Dain Ironfoot in this film ( as expected), so Connolly is only in the 3rd one.

I wonder who " Elros " and " Galion" are , they are still in the updated cast list.

Also no Thrain by the looks of it. Very odd.

No Thrain? [In reply to] Can't Post

Seems peculiar, since the Thrain plot seemed to be central somehow (PJ mentioned changing the actor portraying Thrain to Antony Sher, and that the father/son relationship between Thrain and Thorin was a major theme for the film, along with other father/son relationships).

Now now Bill, you swore this was a battle between warriors, not a bunch of miss nancies, so warriors is what I brought

SPOILER [In reply to] Can't Post

He had also said that the WC will "kick some ass" in the second movie but that's not going to happen.Obviously the character of Thrain will play a significant part in TABA just like the WCSmile

Galion was in the book, wasn't he? [In reply to] Can't Post

He's Thranduils butler. Elros is probably just one of the Wood Elves, with his name borrowed from Elrond's twin brother.

Thrain is listed as uncredited which might just mean that he doesn't have a speaking role. [In reply to] Can't Post

Same for a few of the other uncredited cast members...

Yes, yes he should have... [In reply to] Can't Post

He made an excellent Gregor Clegane. This new Icelandic (I think) guy playing the role looks promising though, much better than the gaunt guy from season 2.

Anyway, from my understanding it isn't 100% accurate to say that Stevens left GoT just for The Hobbit, at least that hasn't been stated publically. Regardless, it is a shame. Apparently up until 2 months ago or so, he was still under the impression he was going to be playing Bolg.

Most likely not in the movie [In reply to] Can't Post

Those credits were added by fans months ago. When IMDb update their cast lists, all cast members not included in the final movie (but listed prior to the update) automatically get an "uncredited" tag next to their name.

Yep. Galion was the only Wood-elf who was actually given a name in the book. He was the wine-steward of Thranduil's Halls and the one who got drunk with the captain of the guard.
