Thanks, Joe20! [In reply to] Can't Post

That was awesome!

Stephen Fry looks like he's going to be great in his role as Master of Laketown. I'm glad they expanded the role and cast such a good actor.

The thing I absolutely love above all is getting glimpses at all the animation, digital and mixing equipment! It looks like NASA on steroids, lol.

Counting down and can't wait! Laugh

Is it Walfrid marching in Dale near the begining of the vlog ? [In reply to] Can't Post

What would it mean ? Does the Master survive Smaug's attack and still play a part in TaBA along with Alfrid, or does the master die and only Alfrid still exerces a negative influence on the Lake-Towner ? Or do I just need to get my eyes checked ?

Anyway it was a GREAT vlog, I really can't wait anymore !
By the way, Smaug doesn't look very red in the end, I'm sorry for those annoyed by this information (I personally don't really mind the color isn't essential to the character IMO)

Can't be in laketown, since there is an tree and he walk on dirt, not wood, and it does appear to be an exhausted Alfrid !

The tickets [In reply to] Can't Post

I got my advance tickets for midnight and they are burning a hole in my purse. I have the pocket tightly zipped. I don't want to lose them but I am just so impatient. I feel like a kid at Christmas that can't wait for Christmas day to open the presents. I took the 12th and 13th off as well as the following week.

SQUEEEEE! as the teenagers across the street say. LOL.

Midnight show [In reply to] Can't Post

My tickets are waiting patiently on my desk. My BFF and I are also not working those days, so will have plenty of time to line up for the double feature, and sleep in the next day (that is, if I can sleep at all after the adrenaline rush).

I'll counter your SQUEEEEEE! with my WOOHOO!!!!!!

Just saw this come up as well... [In reply to] Can't Post

and it's a very exciting VLOG.

The stuff with PJ shooting on his MoCap stage with the pre-vis of Smaug is so great. Just seeing the pure joy and fun he is having building that shot... It is what made me get into production and post-production.

Thanks for the VLOG PJ and Co.! Can't wait for the last one for Desolation of Smaug... and then the movie!

*sneaks into thread to avoid spoilers across the forum*... [In reply to] Can't Post

This was great! It's always wonderful to see how dedicated these artists are to PJ and the production.

Only a few more days!! I've successfully avoided all of the spoilers that I'm sure have leaked since the premiere. I've even managed to contain myself from watching the clips that have come out in the last day or so (wasn't easy to do!). I'm *hoping* that I don't accidentally see/hear something before seeing the film.

From what I am hearing, is it correct that initial reception is quite positive so far?

I've got quite a bit to do the day of the premiere (and somehow plan to read TH up to a certain point that day, too! Angelic). Oh, and plenty of stuff going on the day after seeing it (and that weekend, too).

It never ends! Cool

Oh well Wink. I'll third the SQUEEE and WOOHOO with a *happy dance*. SmileSmile

Yes definitely! [In reply to] Can't Post

To be honest I don't think i've read a single negative review or tweet with the exception of one guy over at imdb. There have naturally been one or two gripes here and there but nothing that I would truly constitute as being negative.

Almost unanimously positive so far.

Absolutely ! [In reply to] Can't Post

indisputably better than for AUJ ! Some people (not even the majority) still voiced some complaints, or didn't like some specific aspects of certain plots, but absolutely every single voice said the film in general was at least very good. And everybody loved both Smaug and the barrel sequence.
