Quite spoilery, I think. Especially the first one - is that the famous first meeting of Gandalf & Thorin in The Prancing Pony? The third one would do a great caption contest. :)

Great pictures. Yes, I think the first one is Bree. I hope we'll see Mr. Barliman The third one is great fun. Queer Lodgings is one my favourite part and I just can't wait to see it
- Good morning. - What do you mean? Do you mean to wish me a good morning, or do you mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not? Or perhaps you mean to say that you feel good on this particular morning...or are you simply stating that this is a morning to be good on? - Good evening. - Yes, yes it is. Though I think it might rain later.

I think the Barliman of LOTR would have been awfully young to be tending bar in The Hobbit!

LOTR Barliman would've been very, very young or would not have been born I forgot for a moment. I just love Prancing Pony and old Butterbur and Merry's "This, my friend, is a pint!"

I'm so looking forward to that scene. Makes me really happy we're getting three films. So much of the rich history of Middle earth would never have made it onto the screen with just one or two movies.

#1 showing a wished-for scene being filmed without really seeing it = happiness. Caption for #3 "Desperate to avoid the crazed group of dwarf-deprived Hobbit fans that had burst from the trees, Gloin and Bilbo raced to catch up with the fleeing Thorin, Kili, and Fili." Even the mighty courage of the King Under the Mountain had failed when confronted with the terrifying spectacle of hundreds of magical flashing I-phones and howling fans waving autograph books. Kili, however, had stopped to gaze wistfully at the mob clad in Hobbit T-shirts screaming his name. "Come ON, Kili!" snapped Thorin irritably. "Fili, grab his other arm!" "But, but, they LOVE us!" pleaded Kili as he was dragged away. "Son, there's too many of them, you can't hug them all" explained Thorin as he and Fili forced Kili along. "But looks like the orcs that were chasing us got trampled, amazing how those women can run through the woods in spiked heels.....

I think the Barliman of LOTR would have been awfully young to be tending bar in The Hobbit! 75 years separate Thorin's stop at Bree and Frodo's first visit to the Prancing Pony. Barliman Butterbur wouldn't have even been born yet.

So *that's* what becomes of Azog! Flattened by Durins' fangirls. Rather appropriate, don't you think?

already think PJ got it wrong, he could make it the battle of SIX armies - the sixth being legions of fangirls and gamers, who would mop up the battle in like, 10 minutes.... (and I'd be right there in my fake Ugg *dwarf* boots from Costco and Orcrist letter opener.....)

Thorin rounding up the Dwarves?

Some time ago, there was a rumour going around that we would see Thorin rounding up ("recruiting") each of the Dwarves for the Quest. This scene with Gandalf was a pick-up, but I wonder if something like that was ever filmed and if it will be in the DOS prologue.

Could serve many Purposes 1. Re Introduces the Company to the Casual Viewer (Even One's who did not see AUJ) 2. Supplants Gandalf's Intoductions to Beorn in "Queer Lodgings" BOOK Chapter. 3. Defines & Refines "The less featured" Characters... Maybe Thorin explains his Quest @ The Prancing Pony. That he has ALREADY recuited 12.. In Few words, Tells Gandalf their names and Why they Want to join him. Like a Mini-Bio of each. "Dwalin, my Cousin... Finest Warrior I've ever known..... fought with me at Moria.. Balin...My closest advisor.. Bifur, my best friend, Bombur our greatest Cook...etc.. ...and could be short... "They are about 2 days from the Eastern part of the Shire" Gandalf.."But, 13 is an Un-Lucky Number... TO.."WE also need a Burgler to steal the Arkenstons from Smaug" "Do you Know any Burglers..in the Shire?" TORN..Famly: MAKE up the rest of this Dialogue in your OWN Head" Bomby is a JUST a Tease to Tickle your mind.
