I keep asking myself why I want to see DOS in 48fps when there are icky, gross, detestable and now high-definition spiders *shivers*, but then I remember that Kili, Fili, Thorin, Legolas, Thranduil, and Cumbersmaug will also be in 48fps and it makes me feel better somehow! Seriously though, I will be hiding under my jacket screaming "Squish 'em Bilbo!" until the spiders are gone.

The spiders are difinitely looking like they're going to be a highlight. I especially like how they're going to "talk".

Wouldn't that be false advertising?

Not that I have a problem with it. I'm still worried Bilbo and a few others are going to be kicked to the curb in favor of a certain tacky made-up character. But if that's so, for the early marketing showing the elves, when they might not be the focus, isn't that false advertising?

And suspiciously no sign of Christopher Lee as Saruman although PJ said in the commentary on the EE that Saruman will be seen again in the movies. Maybe in TABA then. Perhaps Elrond and Galadriel are really going to react in some kind to Gandalf's imprisonment in DOS.

I meant, having the marketing focus heavily on Tauriel and Legolas, it was as if the film was about them. If the film ends up not being about them (fat chance), wouldn't that be false advertising? Because Tauriel and Legolas were seen as the main focus, but might (key word might) not be the focus after all. That's what I meant. Perhaps I should have been more clear.
