It's nice to see Thranduil without a sword for once and in a more artistic, and less aggressive pose. I think it's actually a very beautiful image. I also showed it to my mom and she thought it was great too...she wants is as a poster...should I be concerned? Lol

...Although I have the feeling that Thranduil will be permanently remembered as 'fabulous', just as Thorin will be forever remembered as 'majestic'...
"I had forgotten that. It is hard to be sure of anything among so many marvels. The world is all grown strange. Elf and Dwarf in company walk in our daily fields; and folk speak with the Lady of the Wood and yet live; and the Sword comes back to war that was broken in the long ages ere the fathers of our fathers rode into the Mark! How shall a man judge what to do in such times?" "As he ever has judged. Good and ill have not changed since yesteryear; nor are they one thing among Elves and Dwarves and another among Men. It is a man's part to discern them, as much in the Golden Wood as in his own house."

one thing cannot be denied: the cast choices were brilliant. The actors for Bilbo, Thorin, Balin, and Thranduil are just as perfect for their roles as the actors in LOTR. It's as if they were born for these parts.

Now we have to find another word because 'fabulous' is not enough
- Good morning. - What do you mean? Do you mean to wish me a good morning, or do you mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not? Or perhaps you mean to say that you feel good on this particular morning...or are you simply stating that this is a morning to be good on? - Good evening. - Yes, yes it is. Though I think it might rain later.

Thranduils character design is my favourite so far! Some of the dwarves look really silly so it is nice to see they kept the elves classy.

I love the satin-lined cape too, but am looking forward to seeing Thranduiil in a change of clothes from the same old silver lame jacket. Though I think the only alternative we're going to get is the battle armour for Bo5A. Shame.. how's a king to stay fabulous without a bigger wardrobe? Even Elrond has more changes of outfit than the Elvenking

Is there a Tolkien topic that you have wanted to look into more deeply and write about your thoughts on it? If so, we'd like to hear from you for the next TORn Amateur Symposium- coming in November. Happy writing!
