AUJ: Extended Edition UK Steelbook Picture Can't Post

Taken from Hi-Def Ninja. Looks great, much better than the theatrical cut ones. I'm sure the banner at the top will be removable.

Very nice indeed – that's the one for me. [In reply to] Can't Post

Although I don't actually need the 3D version.

It has all the elements I want to see (including a nice one of Thorin), and the picture of Bilbo isn't one of the standard ones I've seen a zillion times before.

Thank you for posting this.

UK DVD cover [In reply to] Can't Post

Both BASE and Amazon.co.uk are now showing a new cover for the DVD version of the release.

Seems to heavily match the previous DVD designs however it still seems as slim as a normal Amaray case

http://www.amazon.co.uk/...ney+extended+edition
http://www.base.com/...n/dgc-1000431039.htm

NOTE: This appears to be for the DVD version only, The Blu Ray flavours still appears to have a same covers as the US version.

Makes a little bit of sense as the LotR EEs were never released in the style as Blu Rays, so theres not anything to really match

As mentioned it still showing as a thin Amaray case not like the Japanese version which match the LotR EE to a T

Finally. Now we have a proper design! [In reply to] Can't Post

Would be better if it still looked more like a book, à la the LOTR EE DVD cases. But this is much better than all the previous ones. Cool

But c'mon Amazon....what on earth is the delay in letting us know over here if we are going to get the figurine gift set in the UK??? Or what exactly is in Bilbo's Trunk???

That's what we really wants to know.... Frown

Doesn't surprise me... [In reply to] Can't Post

I've tried searching for the terms in the original link several times recently and never been able to find it (although the link did still work then.) Let's hope they're updating it, or replacing it with a link to pre-order the collector's edition gift set everyone else has! Wink

Gosh... [In reply to] Can't Post

This whole package stuff is really getting to me. I mean, we already had three versions for the US, and now I found out that there´s another two for the UK, and although the dvd version is what I´m planning to get, it doesn´t look exactly the same as the LOTR EE versions, but then there´s the japanese version! Crazy

Couldn´t they just release two versions for all countries? What´s going to be next, a brazilian version with lollypops on the cover?

No... [In reply to] Can't Post

A Wal-Mart exclusive version with a lollypop on the cover, a Target exclusive version with a writing pen.

Warner really has no idea how to market this.

They're not making the effort cause they know there will be Ultimate editions later!! [In reply to] Can't Post

You just know there's gonna be an entire Middle-earth boxset, complete with all the extras the LOTR sets were missing (deleted scenes etc). Whether Peter revisits LOTR in any way we shall see... I would like him to.
