hi all, I just heard something quite confusing and strange from the one ring.nets facebook status. the link is attached below. it comes after a panel hosted by theonering.net. so what does this mean? the way I conceived it was that radagast and Galadriel will fight eachother! though im thinking I was wrong with that and they just mean they will be present fighting in dol guldur. any way what do you all think of this?? https://www.facebook.com/...p;type=1&theater

Was my first thought....how comes Gandalf ISNT involved ???!!! Is he prisoned there ?! Cause he gets Raddys staff, which Raddy should need for a battle...all that is confusing me even more!

They'll fight against the Necromancer, as is supposed to happen at the Battle of Dol Guldur (albeit, at a different time in Tolkien's timeline, and minus Radagast, possibly). Nice to see it finally confirmed - we already knew they both had some role. Call me a NARF, I think it's exciting! Anything to see Lady Galadriel destroy Dol Guldur.
Coming soon! The first TORn Amateur Symposium, starts Sunday 21st July in the Reading Room. Closing date for essay submission Sunday 14th July, but even if you don't submit, join us for some interesting discussion on some different and personal ways of looking at Tolkien's work.

It could fit in a way that Gandalf is imprisoned there after the "trap" ...staff gets broken by maybe Bolg. After the battle he gets it from: A) Galadriel -Raddy dead- after she carried him out oft the fortress which was mentioned a while ago B) Radagast himself...alive,or he dies right after. Btw, i think that this DG Stuff will look epic ! Ideas?!

they'll be fighting over Gandalf, in the resolution of that particular love triangle. It's a pity they couldn't have tried solve their differences over coffee, rather than in the thick of an important battle in the history of Middle Earth - no wonder the Necromancer manages to escape....

But they just left him out since they probably assumed we'd know that anyway. I just hope when Radagast is fighting in a serious situation like that they don't add any goofy stuff. They didn't do this when he fought the Witchking briefly in AUJ, so fingers crossed.

Maybe this means that the rumors are true, and Radagast is, in fact, the Necromancer...

galadriel and radagast battle it out at dol guldur ???!!!! It comes off to me as a poorly-worded remark. I doubt that Radagast and Lady Galadriel would be fighting each other.

The TORn panel isn't confirming anything, it's meant to be a fan presentation of all the geeky things we've been speculating given the tidbits we've received thus far. So there's no "confirmation" that this happens.... unless I've missed something concerning the panel (which is absolutely possible )

I always wondered why and how Sauron got away. This is seriously one of the best commentaries on these rumors (and occasionally confirmed facts) I have heard in a while. Thank you.
"I had forgotten that. It is hard to be sure of anything among so many marvels. The world is all grown strange. Elf and Dwarf in company walk in our daily fields; and folk speak with the Lady of the Wood and yet live; and the Sword comes back to war that was broken in the long ages ere the fathers of our fathers rode into the Mark! How shall a man judge what to do in such times?" "As he ever has judged. Good and ill have not changed since yesteryear; nor are they one thing among Elves and Dwarves and another among Men. It is a man's part to discern them, as much in the Golden Wood as in his own house."

I really don't understand why people don't like Radagast... I love him. He's so different from Gandalf and Saruman and yet so very wizardly in his own way. ('Wizardly'? Is that a word? Oh, well, if it's not I've just coined one.)

It sounds pretty definitive by how they announced it on TORn facebook page. After all, a "scoop" isn't a scoop if it's a rumour. Confused now.

Now I want to see this happen! So much! Seriously, I am laughing so hard... I don't take the Radagast=Necromancer theory very seriously (I believe the hedgehog was 'only mostly dead', not actually dead, for one), but it sure is good for a laugh or two. Thanks for the mental image! (I can just see this happening in the movie and my family going, "What in the world...?!" while I have to escorted out for disturbing everyone by laughing so hard...)

I always wondered why and how Sauron got away. RADAGAST: We've got that mean-ol' Necromancer now! Whatcha waiting for Gladdy? Shoot him now! Shoot him now! SAURON: You keep out of this! She doesn't have to shoot you now. RADAGAST: Yes, she does have to shoot me now! (To GALADRIEL) Shoot me now! GALADRIEL (fires): Ka-pow!
