Trailer comments at Armageddon expo. Can't Post

What were they? Theonering posted on their Facebook that "It's now looking like the rumours are true based on comments from studio folk at Armageddon Expo!", but it didn't say what the "studio folk" actually said.

What were the comments?

And I must say that this is part of some annoyance I have had around here lately... the whole vote bilbo thing made me stop following TORn all together on twitter. Then the posting of the picture of what was potentially Smaug on the main page and on facebook with Spoiler out to the side or underneath...but the spoiler being the actual picture that couldn't be missed. Now when it seems that there is actually some interesting news...that news isn't even reported just " See, we told you!' comment. And the vibe around the message board has really been something that has made me stay away as of late.

I hate to sound all whiny, and I think it's cool that there are so many new people coming to the sight and I can see why the site has embraced social media and stuff, but I feel like these thing are pushing me away, something that I have enjoyed since the beginning. I've gotten more frustration with this site over the past few months than joy. But alas, if things need to change then they need to change! Maybe it's just me :)

Don't forget... [In reply to] Can't Post

to check the Alberta film ratings website. If the trailer isn't listed a few days before Man of Steel is released then I would suspect that it won't come for a while. (For the previous Hobbit trailers it looks like the trailer was listed six days before it was released, but this isn't a guaranteed trend.)

http://www.albertafilmratings.ca/...ntclasstrailers.aspx

As for unsourced hearsay, I wouldn't pay it any mind.

Couldn't say [In reply to] Can't Post

It wasn't in the video and the fb page said that it was comments from "studio folk" at the expo. I assume someone let it leak after the event to a fan or something. That is assuming it is indeed true.

i cant imagine them making a Facebook post about an untrue conjecture [In reply to] Can't Post

drop one of them a line. maybe they will make an official post about this. Either way, this is good news for both mine and justin's theories that the trailer will be attached to man of steel instead of coming later on in the summer.

Just checked TORN's FB page [In reply to] Can't Post

And they said the rumours that DoS trailer will be attached to Man of Steel look to be true based on comments at the Armageddon expo.

Does that mean... [In reply to] Can't Post

...that the trailer will be released on the 12th of June? That's when MoS is first released (in the Philippines) (Source: IMDb).
Rather than the 14th (USA) for example.

for those interested in history... [In reply to] Can't Post

I well documented the LOTR trailers including all their pre-release rumors and buzz.

I particularly remember all the speculation about ROTK's first trailer. Word was it was going to be attached to Secondhand Lions and lots of people went to see that movie just for the chance to catch it and were disappointed when it wasn't attached to the showing they attended (raises hand).

Times are different now but it's still interesting to see how, historically, these things went down.

trailer [In reply to] Can't Post

i think the trailer will be all about smaug, there will be a description by thorin maybe explaining to bilbo his might, and power and size, like a voiceover , over sneaky little shadowy glimpses fo smaug. thats what i hope. that would be a real teser trailer.

torn needed to say something about that expo, im sure one of them knows for sure, but they cant officially announce it themselves.

I know it would be very spoilerific but I wouldn't mind a TINY TINY snipet of Smaug voicing a line at the end when the screen goes dark. That would be thrilling!

Over zealous fans... [In reply to] Can't Post

do and say strange things. Laugh

Is this the result of the "hot-dwarves"?

I just wish that I could see the books inspire this much intense passion (but without the overtones of romantic obsession).

Could the movies eclipse the books? They will not for me and for the people here, but what about others?

I reckon it will be akin to TTT and the ever-so-tiny glimpse of Gollum we had. We heard the voice and scenes that were shot behind him. But, if memory serves me right, we saw no forward-facing Gollum shots.

Oh yeah I would be very upset if we saw any of Smaug in the first trailer to be honest. I want a total black screen with his deep and booming voice!

In complete agreement, MK. I'm so very curious as to how Cumberbatch has voiced him. But I don't want anything too spoilerish (if that is a word Laugh), eventhough we've all read the book. But I'm intrigued nonetheless and cannot wait to hear a tiny snippet of dialogue from him.

I would assume he used his Star Trek voice and then greatly altered it into a more reptilian voice. WOW that is exciting just thinking about it! Shocked

The ending could echo AUJ's trailer [In reply to] Can't Post

We see Bilbo huddled behind a mound of gold, closing his eyes and clutching Sting. He praises Smaug with a condensed version of the line from the book.

The screen goes black.

"You have nice manners for a liar and a thief." in a calm, smooth voice that booms through the speakers.
