Aieee, it's Friday! [In reply to] Can't Post

And I'm leaving on a jet plane on Sunday.... Okay, I'm one of those people who has to be ready waaay in advance, like a hunter staking out a water hole for a rare beast. None of this, well the plane's leaving in a couple of hours, guess I should pack business for me! Nope. Gotta have everything laid out days in advance.

Thank goodness the Gaffer is the same way, or we'd have killed each other long since!

I'll grab a quick cup of ginger tea, Evey, since I really cannot use any more caffeine right now. What I could use is the female equivalent of Jeeves, to pack for me, but that's not going to happen Crazy

Thanks for substituting today. Keep an eye on all the 'sibs for me, okay?

Hey there, Evey! I'd love a huge mocha frappuccino to-go, please! It's Field Day today, and mid-80's for the temps, so it's hot! And now the little kids are coming in to cool off, and I've got to get a movie running for them (Brother Bear).

Whoa! Who sent all this heat to New England?

Meeting a friend for drinks later today [In reply to] Can't Post

and Saturday I leave for Milwaukee for five days. Every year, my sister and I attend the Bead and Button Show, which is the largest consumer bead show in the US. We attend various jewelry making classes throughout the week. I've got about seven classes of different techniques, from metal smithing to wirework to kumihimo, while my sister tends to take her classes from a single instructor.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi d:) [In reply to] Can't Post

Well it is a warm one today isn't it. I will take some cold Gatorade straight up as I am heading to the camp from the house on a bike training ride. I took the 1st long swim there yesterday. The water was 71degrees. Gad i am glad i am out of those ymca lanesTongue

I happen to have some pictures of completed projects. I sigh thankfully now that there are but it was fun creating it all. The pipe is covered in another 25 wheellbarrows of top soil and the grass seed is there. Now all I have to do is turn the spicket and lawn sprinker will do the workSmile.

My rock garden is completed. Moving those big rocks around was done by handtruck only. The ‘barrow was for the dirt to fill it.

Lastly is the completion of the town pipe I volunteered to finish on the exit side. (since i will be looking at it a lot) I had to put some boards down in the channel to work that project. The dirt they dropped acted like thick cement which helped.

My last shot has a caption this time: "I am Isildur's short haired cat. No one enters Gondor but by me!" I was re-doing a shot i lost and look what happenedLaugh

Hope all is well and I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

''Sam put his ragged orc-cloak under his master's head, and covered them both with the grey robe of Lorien; and as he did so his thoughts went out to that fair land, and to the Elves, and he hoped that the cloth woven by their hands might have some virtue to keep them hidden beyond all hope in this wilderness of fear...But their luck held, and for the rest of that day they met no living or moving thing; and when night fell they vanished into the darkess of Mordor.'' - - -rotk, chapter III

Sunshine today [In reply to] Can't Post

first day in a couple of weeks, so here's hoping it will stick around for a while. I've missed Fiesta for a few weeks now, but I slept in today and I'm usually up and gone by this time. My beloved mother-in-law is in the hospital and we've all been taking turns going up to be with her. Her heart is failing and there's little hope that she will be able to return to her home, but every time it seems the end is near, she rallies and seems much better. It's confounding the doctors somewhat. They are contemplating surgery if they think she might be strong enough to endure it, but heck, she's 89!

Not much other news other than we still have several turkey chicks running around and they are so cute. And I still am really enjoying my Pathfinder RPG on Thursday nights, which is why I slept in today.

I think I'll just grab a coffee to go and head out to the gym. When I wake up completely.

Happy weekend, everyone!

Two ice cold Changs, one to shoot, one to sip. Eye doctor says I need trifocals. (Trifocals?) Arthritis really acting up this week. Hands on fire. Back hurts. All you kids get off my lawn! Waugh-waugh-waugh! (Wow, I'm getting all old-man cranky! Need to take Wifey out camping this weekend. No doubt she deserves it for putting up with me all this week!)

Brother will fight brother and both be his slayer,
Brother and sister will violate all bonds of kinship;
Hard it will be in the world, there will be much failure of honor,
An age of axes, an age of swords, where shields are shattered,
An age of winds, an age of wolves, where the world comes crashing down;
No man will spare another.
