LEGO spare us please...

It just dawned on me. We already KNOW that Lego messes up a lot of things simply due to the fact they release what their new sets will be like fairly early...possibly spoiling aspects of the film. They have already given away what Legolas and Tauriel will do (not their fault really due to the two films being changed to three) but a good lot of us guessed something of that manner would take place and Lego just clarified it for us. So it seems like I am not upset about this whole thing? Well yes...and no. All spoilers given thus far have not made me mad in the slightest in fact, what I fear is what they COULD spoil for this coming film. What could they spoil? SMAUG! Yes Smaug, chiefest and greatest calamity of our age! I'm afraid those swell folks at Lego are going to spill the dragon's design out for all to see! I for one want his design to be mostly a mystery up until when we see him on screen! There...that's my splendid little rant. Thoughts?

Smaug's looks don't intrigue me...

...as much as just seeing his character talk on-screen. He's going to look like a dragon- a magnificent dragon, no doubt, but still a dragon. Don't really think Lego can do anything dragon-wise that would spoil Smaug- they can't really get into much detail, really. Unless Smaug ends up being much blockier than I think he is, Lego will be fine.

Smaug is the film's and WETA's masterpiece. They won't reveal the design via a LEGO release ....

For the Lego release of some of the Mirkwood stuff anyway is because it was in production and ready to go when they were scheduled for 2 films instead of 3. It was already on the platform ready to take off. That's not going to happen with Smaug I agree.

I want to see a life-size repro of Smaug at Legoland, 20-zillion bricks!
