The drawing of young Bilbo

Daniel Reeve has just said on his Facebook page that he drew the portrait of young Bilbo, and that it's supposedly drawn by Ori. I know we've speculated on both accounts, but I'm not sure either has ever been confirmed. Link to DR's FB page.

It's a copy of the "young Bilbo" drawing with the comment: "My portrait of young Bilbo, 'as drawn by Ori', for the prologue of An Unexpected Journey."

Yes it is. This is what he says: "My portrait of young Bilbo, "as drawn by Ori", for the prologue of An Unexpected Journey." That's awesome. Great find. And yes Magpie I think you have to have a FB account to see it. I wish I could post a picture. That is one of my favorite scenes in the prologue. Ian Holm as Bilbo looking at that drawing of himself. Interesting that it says as drawn by Ori. I wonder how we will get that tidbit in one of the two movies yet to come. Pretty neat.

You should be able to go to the page in the link?

did you try the link? Give it a try! That page should be a public page you can view without a FB account. I got the page with Bilbo's drawing, and I do have an account but am signed out, so can't like or comment or connect with Daniel.
'"Never laugh at live dragons, Bilbo you fool!" he said to himself, and it became a favourite saying of his later, and passed into a proverb.'

I will definitely get this when it's for sale too. I have it now as my cell phone screen. I love it.

Nice to see it confirmed. I hope we get to see the scene (in which Ori draws it/gives it to Bilbo) in the film.

Link. Does that work? Not that it helps ... you still can't read the text of course.

Definitely 3rd film material and a great tie in to the scene with Ian Holm. I really hope we get to see this. It will be awesome.

He does reply to some of the comments below his first comment which I quoted above. Mainly people asking whether it is for purchase yet. He said it is not but will be soon. Here's one of interest though: (Rhys) -- Daniel, was this based on a publicity shot or from your interpretation? Looks great! (Daniel) --A bit of both, Rhys.
