BO update: $10 mil away from 1 billion

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hobbit-back-again-pushed-back-425499 AUJ is at $990 mil before the weekend. So close to 1 billion I can taste it. Hopefully it happens this weekend so we can have an early celebration.

it'll definitely make it this week-end, and i'll finally be able to quit paying attention to box office (though i'm still hoping it pulls ahead of Skyfall domestically).

That AUJ would reach $1 billion quicker than Bond. Unfortunately, it hasn't. If it were still in the cinema, they'd be getting my money.

will push it to the billion dollar mark, if not over it. I really want the movie to do so well, because I love it so very much. And because it hasn't been rewarded in terms of awards, all the more reason I would love to see it do well financially. Just to give the nay-sayers a kick upside the jacksie! Oh, and welcome to the boards!!!

(which I may still see at some point, despite my patriotic vitriol) opens in China. . . how the HELL does that movie get to open there on the same day it does here, instead of having to wait a month or more like Avengers, An Unexpected, Skyfall and the rest?!!! No matter, though. At this point, 1 billion is all but guarunteed, even with Morgoth's host seeking to assail it,. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hobbit-back-again-pushed-back-425499 AUJ is at $990 mil before the weekend. So close to 1 billion I can taste it. Hopefully it happens this weekend so we can have an early celebration. "Hear me, hounds of Sauron, Gandalf is here! Fly if you value your foul skins, I will shrivel you from tail to snout if you step within this circle!" "Do not be to eager to deal out death in judgement. Even the very wise cannot see all ends."

I'd concur with Estel78's prediction and say it's a fairly safe bet that It will likely cross the 1 BN mark by Monday or Tuesday. :) (Might do it today, but I'm a bit cautious with my predictions, typically projecting the lower end of my window.)

(Western Washington), at least until March 7th (3-D only). It's been going week-by-week, so every Wednesday I check my local theaters online. It surprises and pleases me to see it's still going!

WB did not submit an estimate to BOM. Because boxoffice.com also does not show an estimate for it. But it is somewhat strange.

However, this is probably its last weekend. It made $49k on Thursday but probably didn't make enough to really submit until monday to be honest. According to BO Mojo The Hobbit has passed 1 billion. The Hobbit passes 1 billion
