Amazon UK - New AUJ DVD cover
|
Can't Post

Wasn't really sure where to post this, but here it goes: The folks at Amazon UK have 'updated' the cover art for the standard DVD set - with a more "menacing" Bilbo. Image Not really sure about it - I think I'd rather prefer the original Bilbo closeup with Sting - seems to fit in more with the LoTR Theatrical DVD covers I have!

...because it shows Thorin and Gandalf as well as Bilbo (I think the original just showed Bilbo?). Thank you for posting it.

I like how it shows the three main characters of the story. I wouldn't mind seeing this as an option here in the states.

I don't think you can describe this cover as depicting the "three main characters" when Sebastian isn't included.

In my first post to this thread I wrote about Bilbo's more "menacing" look - well, guess I was wrong since it's the exact same face and look as used in the first DVD cover: here The powers of the mind ... incredible!

I think it looks way better than any of the posters we got (except the one of solely Bilbo).
There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall and the bells in the steeple, too. And up in the nursery an absurd little bird is popping out to say coo-coo (coo-coo, coo-coo).

Bilbo looks like daniel radcliffe on the cover of the POA dvd and its a photoshopped head shot for sure...dwalin has his head cut off in half ...the rocks on the top look like theyre form a miniature...thorins is from another picture and looks weird, like a stamp, just inserted there and Gandalf...ohh Gandalf...like someone else said, he looks like hes riding a scooter I dont know what is it with many of the merchandise for the TH, particularly posters and covers that are so uninspired...

Hate how US Blu-ray buyers get the new image cover, while DVD buyers get the boring Bilbo with Sting. Was hoping something like this would be the cover, but nope....

So you could buy the BluRay and just use the DVD until you have a BluRay player. Just a thought.

But, in my weird OCD way, I normally get the DVD-only on release, then during the holidays get the Blu-ray. I like the cheaper DVD and my PS3 is normally used for playing games on a SDTV.
