The close up of Gollum's face is breathtaking - the skin texture and the eyes. So much fine detail. If that had been a character people hadn't seen before if would surely have won every award going as a piece of technical wizardry (and it's well worth the technical Oscar the team did win)

The close-ups of Gollum really were brilliant. I thought the tiger in LoP looked better but now i am not sure - i think they both basically look real going of this! Amazing, well deserved Oscar to Weta seeing as they basically made an animated film!

Currently studying 3D animation so this was great to see! The amount of work that goes into bringing Middle Earth to life is fantastic! I'm looking forward to seeing Smaug in all his glory and the showreel really makes me want to see the film again (only seen it once). Never noticed that so many of the orcs at Azanulbizarr were white like Azog.
