The Goblin King's Song (My extended version)
|
Can't Post
|
|
I found the Goblin King's song highly amusing in the film, and wanted to hear more of it (which may have happened if Orcrist hadn't been identified), so I've compiled two extra verses made up by me to finish the song: Warning: Like the film song, it is pretty graphic. Bones will be shattered Necks will be wrung You'll be beaten and battered From racks you'll be hung You will die down here and never be found Down in the deep of Goblin-Town Blood will be splattered Veins will be ripped In structures of iron Your bones will be gripped But your screams down here will never be heard Down in the deep where goblins lurk Teeth will be smattered Legs will be hacked You will whimper and grumble Your skin will be cracked You will lose your mind then soon to be mad Down where the goblins quaff, my lad! Just for laughs but tell me what you think.
"These are Gundabad Wargs! They will outrun you!" "THESE are Rhosgobel Rabbits! I'd like to see them try...."

I particularly enjoyed that you managed to work in "my lad', if not the "ho ho". Well done!

I loved the Goblin King's song in the movie and his silly dance. I wish there had been more of it and now you've made my wish come true! Well, partially. But... but now it's stuck in my head! HALP!

You should probably be employed to write the lyrics to these songs. I can totally hear the goblin king singing those words haha I do hope this is extended in the EE though it would be epic!!

I was disappointed that the song wasn't longer in the film. I liked it.

That has to be one of the kindest things anyone has ever said to me (At least as far as Tolkien/Middle-Earth is concerned anyway).
"These are Gundabad Wargs! They will outrun you!" "THESE are Rhosgobel Rabbits! I'd like to see them try...."

WARNING TO OTHERS! DON'T READ THIS WHEN YOU'RE EATING LUNCH! This is so cool, R-A :D I couldn't help but sing along! Trying to hold the laughter in can be dangerous to your health! Not to mention painful.

Nice one mate.that song is a firm favourite in our house now,the kids can't stop singing it,much to Mrs andwise's annoyance!!haha. along with random shouts of 'bring out the mangler'....'bring out the bonebreaker' I'll let them have a look at your extended lyrics, see if they can memorize that!
Arrow....black arrow,I have saved you to the last.you have never failed me and always I have recovered you.I had you from my father and he from old.if ever you came from the forges of the true king under the mountain,go now and speed well

I'm glad you and your family get as much pleasure from the Goblin King's antics as I do. The song and moments you listed are brilliant, along with these: "Hail Thorin, son of Thrain, son of Thror, King Under the Mountain. Oh, but I'm forgetting, you don't have a mountain, and you're not a king, which makes you...nobody, really" "If they will not talk, we will make them squawk!" "I know somebody who would pay a pretty price for your head...Just the head mind, nothing attached!" "So you think his defiling days are over do you?" "You thought you could escape me! What are you going to do now, Wizard?..........That'll do it."
"These are Gundabad Wargs! They will outrun you!" "THESE are Rhosgobel Rabbits! I'd like to see them try...."

I've said it before and I'll say it again,Barry humphries is fantastic as the goblin king, its one of those performances that will be loved for years to come.a true stroke of genius casting him in the role.the way he delivers every line, the mocking bow as he says '...king under the mountain' the facial movements, everything really.truly great.love it to bits.can't compliment him enough

In my opinion Humphries is right up there with the actors in the roles of Bilbo, Gollum, Thorin, Balin, Bofur, Galadriel and the three Wizards.
"These are Gundabad Wargs! They will outrun you!" "THESE are Rhosgobel Rabbits! I'd like to see them try...."
