IF PJ fix red book scene in Rivendell for continuity, how should he do it?

Hi guys... I was thinking about the scene in FOTR where Bilbo shows his Red Book to Frodo in Rivendell, and how it doesn't match what we see in AUJ, neither descriptions nor drawings.
So... IF PJ decides to match and fix it, how should he do it?
1. Replacing text and drawing using CGI, or ...
2. Film the matching book reproducing the same shots and angles and using similar hands for them, as both book and hands turning the pages is what we see in those shots.
what would you prefer ?

You can only read the Red Book if you look at screencaps. To the average audience member, they wouldn't even notice any differences. 
Obviously, if TH had come before the LOTR trilogy then these differences wouldn't be acceptable. As it stands, nothing can really be done.

I don't see this as that much of a concern...in Bag End, Frodo's looking at the book when Bilbo starts it, in Rivendell, it's when he's finished it...maybe Bilbo edited in between! :)
If it were like that shot of Isildur and the Ring, that they keep flashing back to, I could see where an exact match would be more important since that imagery continues to be referenced throughout the story. For the Red book though the first time you see it is so far away from the next time it's seen that I think they can get away with slight differences, from a story-telling perspective.
What I think may be a harder continuity thing is the obvious age difference between Bilbo and Frodo from the first Hobbit scene to the first FOTR scene with them, which are meant to have taken place at the same time and place. But even there, the number of films in between those scenes, if you watch them in order, would minimize that impact.

I know what you mean... I just saw it again for the last time (The Hobbit) and there are shots in which Frodo seems so much physically mature, his face is less round, and you can even notice trails of his mustache in moments with certain lighting. But there are other instances where is the same Frodo, specially close ups, with of course they did him digital makeup.
