Rankin Bass Hobbit: is there a 'fixed' DVD?

As many of you know, when the RB version of The Hobbit was released on DVD, it was missing several sound effects. Is there a corrected version available yet?

I have the DVD but not sure where sound effects would be missing. Guess I'll have to watch it again.
" Well well!", said a voice. "Just look! Bilbo the hobbit on a pony, my dear! Isn't it delicious!" "Most astonishing wonderful!"

- when Bilbo kills the spiders, there was a sound effect as the spiders "spiraled away" - when arrows hit Smaug, there was a sound of them bouncing off. Check it out; maybe yours is fixed!

I remember the spider's "spiraling away" sound from watching it on TV (years ago!), but it is not on my DVD; neither is the arrows hitting Smaug. I bought my DVD from a video store that went out of business a few years ago, as well as RB's Return of the King (video) and Bakshi's Lord of the Rings (DVD)--for just a few dollars each. I actually like RB's Hobbit, except some of the voices! Every time I hear Bard I think of Dr. Quest, and Paul Frees voice was too familiar. On the other hand I did like Gandalf's voice, and loved Theodore as Gollum!!

I always wondered what happened to those sound effects.

At least the dvd didn't have the same problem at the last VHS release. The music towards the end of the movie got so loud that you could barely here some of the dialogue. Especially during Thorin's final scene.

The rights to R/B The Hobbit are in Warner Bros. hands so they'll obviously want to cash in while The Hobbit's popular. You'd think they'd have brought out a version by now, but they're probably just working on the up-scaling and special features. Make it worth buying. Or maybe they're waiting for the DVD release of the movie so people get the cartoon and movie confused in shops. We'll see

where Smaug is breathing fire and you can't hear the sound effect. Also, right before the goblins come when they're crossing the Misty Mountains, you can't hear the door open and the horse cry and music come a few seconds later. Yeah I watched it like 100 times when I was in middle school.....
