to all the wonderful people here on TOR.n and you know who you are. I am later than usual but better late than never. Today (Saturday) is turkey-killing day, so it's gonna be busy. It's pretty cold out there so I am keeping soup in the crock pot and coffee in the pot for all the volunteers.

Lookin' good, there. I keep meaning to start a rumpot in the summer, but that could be dangerous - I'd end up being well fed and incapable for most of the Christmas break! Enjoy yours!

I haven't come to Fiesta lately due to lots of problems and serious back pain but am now at my middle brother's house in the southern Black Forest and grabbing a few moments (while the family is at the afternoon Christmas Eve service when they have the kids' nativity play) and I weaselled out of it (on account of my back and the noise there). They'll be back soon, the bells are already ringing, and then there'll be the Christmas tree here (my brother lighting the wax candles and then ringing a small bell for us to come in and admire the tree ---- no one was allowed in the livingroom all day while he was decorating the tree), the singing of Christmas carols, the exchanging of gifts, dinner (I'm contributing a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, NZ), phone calls to parents and such, and then the late Christmas Eve service at 11 p.m. And eventually I'll be lying in bed with my new 'The Hobbit --- Official Movie Guide' It seems only yesterday that I told you about our family Christmas traditions last year, sitting at this very same computer (my sister-in-law's).
'Goodness gracious, you really are a messie!' 'Oh no, I'm not, these are all just mathoms...'

That sounds a lovely way to celebrate the day. We had own own candlelit Christmas Eve last night - because the electricity went off! (It was a stormy night) Fortunately we had plenty of candles, and a wind-up torch and radio.
