Merry Christmas one and all!

It's 9.30am Christmas Day here in New Zealand so I wanted to stop by to wish you all a wonderful Christmas when the sun dawns in your part of the world. Down here we're feeling more like Fiji with the remnants of a tropical cyclone sending the temps and humidity soaring - I expect everyone to have frizzy hair in the Christmas photos this year. :) Cheers, everyone!

Yes, rather wild weather. We were without electricity for a couple of hours last night, as the storm did some damage. Today is just as wild, but the Christmas lights are on. :)

It's still Christmas Eve here, and snow is in the forecast. I'm supposed to go play my harp in church in a few hours: planning on "Far Over the Misty Mountains". :-) I hope the snow holds off a little longer.

After 30 years living in snow country at Christmas time, 26 C in Wellington with blue sky and folks wearing jandals are things hard to believe! The cats and husband and I are being very lazy and trying to stay cool. I hope you in the north are all inside snug and warm with a cuppa and cake - seed cake, of course! Cheers!

So we just took a walk through the woods with the crunch of snow beneath our feet and listened to the silent snowflakes fall, and took a shot of the event on our way out. I cannot remember when this occurred in the past .

I did wonder how you were handling the humidity because I know if NP is sweltering, Auckland would be unbearable. I hope you day has gone smoothly!

to have Christmas in entirely the 'wrong' season! Have you started any new traditions to suit?

Getting together these three years with new friends and watching their little boy grow up; a salad with sausages or sauteed shrimp to replace the turkey; Aunt Betty's Iced Christmas Fruit Cake; a little fiber-optic tree; a quiet day at home in the bush listening to the birds and the stream; and no snow shoveling . Slice of Heaven!

It started snowing around 10:00 last night - beautiful - and left just enough that I'll have to go out and shovel in a bit. But, that's okay, I actually like shoveling snow; strange, I know. Then, it's off to spend the day with family, eating, playing games and watching the kids unwrap the presents they haven't unwrapped yet, and showing off the ones they have. Wishing everyone a most joyous Christmas, or whatever you might be celebrating this time of year!

Or at least on Air NZ. We leave Hawaii late on NY Eve, and arrive in Auckland 9 hrs later, Jan. 2. So a very brief New Year's hour, or minute, or whatever! We'll be in NZ till Jan. 25. We'll be in Rotorua, Wellington, Marlborough area, Christchurch, driving from Graymouth down the coast to Queenstown (taking 3 days), Queenstown, and Te Anau, including an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound. Hope to see some of you, and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to all!

...where we had a much-needed inch of rain and now it's *snowing*!! And also blowing a gale, so I'm going to appreciate it from inside my nice warm home. We did the festivities with our family yesterday, giving them time to get home before the weather turned wet. A white Christmas in Texas is not a frequent occurence, believe me! Happy thoughts 'round the world, y'all.
