Nazgūl-Radagast chase?

Is it true that the Nazgūl-Radagast chase scenes were inspired by Popeye Doyle's pursuit of the elevated train in 'The French Connection'?

There is no chase between Radagast and a Nazgūl.

after that he is chased, though not by the Nazgul, but by bats (they sadly moved so fast that I could say nothing about their design, same with the spiders)

As at least the spiders will have their big reveal in DoS I really liked the Radagast-parts of the film

The only parts I did not like were him smoking out of the ears and the rather corny resurrecting of the hedgehog (Raddy IS the necromancer!!!) All the other parts were great and the whole cinema broke out in laughter at the Rhosgobel rabbit remark.

And the Rabbits were awesome! I am sure Rabbits can get such strength and speed in real life! We just don't know it yet
