The official Hobbit facebook page just posted a new tv spot featuring warg-riders and Weathertop if I'm correct. Here is the link: http://www.facebook.com/...?v=10101880523293066 Edit: Now it is the correct link
"There is only one Lord of the Ring, only one who can bend it to his will. And he does not share power."

It was a wrong link so I changed it. Try this: TV Spot #12

Yeah... someone or something tried to stop me from posting the correct link I fear... but now it is the correct one... perhaps an evil wizard? To Weathertop: I always wondered if they put Amon Sūl into the movie (I mean it is on their way so...)... at least in the background without any information just for us fans. The unknown audience will get his explanation in FOTR by Strider when they watch it. Great shot! Two days! TWO DAYS!

Good to see Weathertop, although I'm glad it doesn't seem like it will feature prominently. Anyone know who the figure is approaching Thorin at 0:10?

The camera swiftly pans past a bulky Orc with what appears to be Bolg's orange beard...even though it's been said he doesn't appear in Film 1, could the son of Azog have a very fleeting cameo at Azanulbizar?
My Top 5 Wish List for "The Hobbit" 5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck 4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot 3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan 2. Use of not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, plus the inclusion of axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate 1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!

that this character appears at Azanulbizar, for a half second, and I had the exact same thought as you. Is it Bolg ? But we never hears again about him, nor sees him, so...

Usually I watch TV spots twice. One time just as everybody and the second time as a search for potential spoilers... this time I noticed Amon Sūl and also this shot with an orc that could be Bold yes. I had the same thought as you... could it be possible that Bolg was there? I think that shows us that the orcs didn't lose everything in that battle as they do in the book. Azog survives, Bold survives (if he was there). We'll see. Perhaps we learn why he looks so... well... fixed together when we see him in Dol Guldur.

Looks like some orc of importance as from all we've seen so far Bolg is the only one with a red beard. They might have decided to cut him from the battle as he won't show up later in the first film anyways?

or, as with Thranduil and the Necro, they're giving us just the slightest glimpse of the character before they come into play in Film 2. Either way, can't wait to see more of him, and agreed his appearance sets him apart as an Orc of stature, literally and figuratively.

Thranduil is introduced, his name is spoken and he is the main character of the (short) scenes where he appears. On the other hand this Bolg look alike is really glimpsed for a heartbeat and that's it. hardly an introducion. But we also have a glimpse of young Dwalin with his mohawk. So I suspect there is a longer version of the battle of Azanulbizar that is yet to be seen...

Well, it'll be nice to see as much of the Dwarf back story as possible (including Azanulbizar)...

But I'm surprised there's no shot of Bolg reacting when Azog is defeated (or is there)? This kind-of fleeting set-up/foreshadowing reminds me of Gandy visiting Minas Tirith in FotR (which we see from the side and very briefly), though it not being identified, or seen in its full glory, until RotK.

"But I'm surprised there's no shot of Bolg reacting when Azog is defeated (or is there)?" Well, Azog is not properly defeated, he is wounded and falls back with some of his men, and as he was clearly the leader, there is a change of tide in the battle. So there is the deffinitive possibility that one of the men retreating with him was Bolg, but I was focused on Azog, you know how it works, and that was it. End of the battle blah blah. Jackson's prologues and flashbacks are beautifully crafted, but it is a serie of very small scenes that never last long. It's like asking someone who just saw FotR once how many of the nine mortal men in the prologue wear mustaches.

One of my favorite shots in the whole trilogy. Watched it over and over when i got the dvd. And we didn't get there for another film and a half.
