... but I do wish he'd have talked less and allowed PJ more time to do so Regardless, great interview... and an even greater setup!

Where the words are flying by? Over the last week I've seen "Elbereth" and "Elendil" and now "Precious." I also find it humorous (in a kind of sad way) to see my hometown, Detroit, identified on his map as "now a debatable and desert land."
"That is one thing that Men call 'hope.' Amdir we call it, 'looking up.' But there is another which is founded deeper. Estel we call it, that is 'trust.' It is not defeated by the ways of the world, for it does not come from experience, but from our nature and First Being. If we are indeed the Eruhin, the Children of the One, then He will not suffer Himself to be deprived of His own, not by any enemy, not even by ourselves. This is the last foundation of estel, which we keep even when we contemplate the End. Of all His designs the issue must be for His children's joy." And not some clueless media bimbo, who doesn't know anything about Tolkien. Stephen's clearly bursting with excitement just to meet these guys, since he's clearly as obsessed as we are. Hobbit week is awesome.

Had to chuckle that my local San Francisco/Bay Area was dubbed 'The GayLands' and the Pacific NW was something like 'EntWash' or 'EverRain.' Florida 'The King Maker' state was appropriately titled 'Pinas Tirith' (look at the shape, people). Some fantastic person took the time to freezeframe & list all the "Lands of The Realm of Middle America." Wish I remembered where I saw that link... actually I think it was posted on the ColbertNation site under one of the vidclips for the first Hobbit interview with Ian. Funny stuff!
