Following my interview here on Torn on 18th November I've been overwhelmed by the fantastic feedback I've received from readers - any and all feedback is extremely helpful to maintain the inspiration and improve my artwork further.
I've posted some new work on my Tolkien art blog that I'd love a reaction to; a scene of the Ringwraiths arriving in Bree and two variations of a ground level view of Minas Tirith

The end product of the various techniques are wonderful. As much as I love some of the Tolkien artists who have been around for years, I also love this fresh approach. I also like to see the different interpretations shown side-by-side.

Thank you Altaira for your comments and I'm very pleased you like the resulting images. It's very gratifying to have people liking the approach I use and I'm quite consciously harking back to the Tolkien artists who've been around for some time. Without them this work wouldn't really exist.
There are some who don't like the fact the work is photographic and digitally manipulated, but the decision was informed by the wish to combine illustration with the look of cinematography to create original new works. Although being an exhibiting painter too, I'm more of an impressionist and this style wasn't right to embark upon a study of Tolkien.
I intend to continue producing new works and will gladly keep sharing them here (as long as I get the hang of correctly posting links and images) as well perhaps a few drawn and painted works too.
