Or is Glamdring glowing blue in the last shot?

I haven't seen this one yet, [In reply to] Can't Post

Looks like they included Smaug, and yes! Gandalf's sword glows blue at the end! But Bilbo's reading of the contract I haven't seen.

Frito groaned. "I wish I had never been born," he said.
"Do not say that, dear Frito," cried Orlon. "It was a happy minute for us all when you were born."

I'm guessing Smaug. [In reply to] Can't Post

Which would also explain why they'd bring melee weapons to fight a dragon.

All they know is that they're under attack from something or someone, then tadaa, a dragon!Wink

I think Smaug as well, [In reply to] Can't Post

The dialog (Gandalf?) says "dragon" right after the burning door, and Bilbo is reading about "incineration" right before.

Frito groaned. "I wish I had never been born," he said.
"Do not say that, dear Frito," cried Orlon. "It was a happy minute for us all when you were born."

I just saw a bunch of dwarves and assumed Azanulbizar, but it's is probably Smaug's taking the lonley mountain.

He obviously has a mohawk [In reply to] Can't Post

So I don't think its Dwalin, And I'm hoping thats not Dain since I'm not a fan of the mohawk idea, but the image isn't the clearest... it might look better seeing it clearly and larger on the big screen.

And according to people on Twitter it's the reason the movie got PG-13 Cool

Also all of the dwarves in the front stand out from the rest (who are just covered in armor): http://imgur.com/AuST3

Make it 11. An entirely new one just aired with The Simpsons about ten seconds ago [In reply to] Can't Post

In it Thorin is heard to say something along the lines of "we may be few in number, but we are mighty in spirit." It is NOT the trailer just posted here, no any of the others we have seen so far.

"Hear me, hounds of Sauron, Gandalf is here! Fly if you value your foul skins, I will shrivel you from tail to snout if you step within this circle!"

"Do not be to eager to deal out death in judgement. Even the very wise cannot see all ends."

Love it [In reply to] Can't Post

The battle of Anazulibar (or however you spell it Tongue) is gonna be amazing. When is it suppose to appear in the movie? Beginning? I read that it opens with Frodo and old Bilbo.

but do we know what Dain's axe looks like? [In reply to] Can't Post

If I remember from the text Dain Ironfoot carries an axe... Dain and Dwalin could have similar weapons for all we know... besides Jackson has went and botched up the timeline anyways so now its more like 60 or 70 years and not hundreds... either way it is what it is Wink

It could be but [In reply to] Can't Post

I think the beard looks a bit bushy and thick to be Dwalin... I mean it could be but Connolly is the one saying Dain had the mohawk... Honestly I think the image itself is a bit to fuzzy to really get a good look at who it is. Could be Dwalin could be Dain... Anyone got a clearer image?

Apparently, the films opens with [In reply to] Can't Post

Old Bilbo relating the history of the Lonely Mountain/Dale to Frodo, with us seeing this through flashback. Unless I'm mistaken, and Old Bilbo simply narrates an opening prologue ALA FotR, leading us to the subsequent scene in Bag End.

However, someone (Andy Serkis?) recently mentioned Ian Holm's "fantastic acting" being in the first few seconds of the film, (I believe in one of the Australian cast interviews) but this may simply have been in reference to voice-over work.

My Top 5 Wish List for "The Hobbit"
5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck
4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot
3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan
2. Use of not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, plus the inclusion of axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate
1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!
