Although I think "Avengers" will most likely take the cake for this one, seeing as how effects-heavy it was. But hell if DOS doesn't win when we get to see Smaug. I just know he's gonna look stunning.

Weta Digital is, without a doubt, the top dog of computer animation right now. I highly doubt as much care was put into the effects of Avengers as was on The Hobbit. The Avengers was such a remarkably mediocre movie to begin with. I have yet to understand the praise it received.
