Slitting his throat maybe?

He's pierced by Glamdring, so likely that's what will happen in the movie as well.

It's noticeable, unfortunately. I wonder if it's better this way or not.

-Tim came by. Tim! If you had heard only a quarter of what I have heard about him, and I have only heard very little of all there is to hear, you would be prepared for any sort of remarkable tale.

at least in that shot he does. That is definitely the worst shot of the film I've seen so far.

I think he looks good [In reply to] Can't Post

Just the hair looks a bit different.

Honestly I'd rather want them to digitally de-age some of the actors who have notably aged since LOTR.

No offense to Holm, but he has a lot of loose skin in the first Hobbit trailer, which it looks like they've removed Smile

De-aging spectacular! [In reply to] Can't Post

I think Ian Holm and Elijah Wood looks almost identical to their LOTR-incarnations. The "de-aging crew" have done a skilled job! I wonder if they can de-age my 38-year old geek to the handsome 20-year old I once was as well. Pirate

*Bemused* [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't usually comment but I've been back, watched it again, tried on full screen, tried it on pause but remain mystified.

Perhaps it's age and poor eyesight setting in on my part.

It looks like he's having a stroke. Of course, this is a single shot, but it's definitely not a good one.

swords on wall [In reply to] Can't Post

Based on the type of swords they were (a Northern Ranger's sword and an Easterling's I think...), I always assumed Frodo had put those up on the wall after destroying the Ring.

I don't think there's ever a shot from that angle when Bilbo's in that room in FotR, so I guess we can't know for sure.

Maybe it's just something I'd just always assumed but wasn't actually the case, so it was jarring to me.

Tears? [In reply to] Can't Post

It looks like Bilbo (Ian Holm) is tearing up in that shot, which may be adding to the disheveled look he appears to have.

Disheveled, crying, and having a stroke [In reply to] Can't Post

Not a very good combination. We already have a wonderful shot of Holm from the teaser, so I know he can look good. This just is an awful shot.

teaser shot [In reply to] Can't Post

I personally thought that shot showed off how much he'd aged way too much.

This new one isn't perfect, but I think he looks more like his 'old' self in it.
