confirms that he kills the great Goblin! Surprised i must say. I was expecting Thorin would have that honour. Gandalf is the only one with a sword in that scene, not to mention the only one not in chains. In the book anyway, and judging from the descriptions I've heard there hasn't been meaningful change to the events in the film. PJ isn't changing things around willy nilly, only when it's necessary for smooth visual storytelling.

To further personalize this Goblin Dwarf conflict and in order to put Thorin as the killer of The great Goblin, which is what begins the goblin revolt. I would have seen it as a very understandable change. Though, he doenst have a weapon i know.
