i saw 2 seconds and then i closed it. It had something to do when Bilbo first gets Sting. I'm not going to ruin that scene, it was one of my favs from the book.

-Tim came by. Tim! If you had heard only a quarter of what I have heard about him, and I have only heard very little of all there is to hear, you would be prepared for any sort of remarkable tale.

I've watched clips before, and it always feels way too spoilery. In fact, one movie I watched I still get taken out of it when the clip comes on. It's so weird, and I will not do that for these films!

watching two second bits from the trailer is one thing, watching a whole 40 second part is too much of a good thing. I can wait 16 more days. Its tempting but i gotta save some room for surprises.

Like the various trailer 2 endings that we got. Those were almost little scenes on their own. But finding Sting?? I can't do it!

"true courage is not knowing when to take a life, but when to spare one..." It's actually rather a clumsy set up for Bilbo's mercy towards Gollum (for those who already know the story)

And those of you are abstaining should know that's it is a great little acting moment between Freeman and Mckellen, a heartfelt interaction similar to many of the interactions between Gandalf and Frodo in Fellowship of the Ring. The acting is wonderful, and the tone of it reminded me a lot of Fellowship. Anyone who's concerned that this film would be all jokey in tone should be very comforted by the clip. This film will be wonderful!

...don't worry. This doesn't have any huge spoilers. Honestly, it doesn't. If you're even vaguely familiar with The Hobbit or the Rings films, watching this doesn't ruin anything. It's a moment we all know is going to happen. That being said, it looks like it's part of a big moment from Film 1. So, if you've got reservations about seeing ANYTHING from the films before you're seated in the theater, you might want to pass this by.

...you'll have all the context you need. That being said, this is a nice character moment between two pivotal characters, so I can understand why you want to avoid it.

Hearing the familiar music come in at the end made me well up slightly. It establishes a link to Gandalf's conversation with Frodo in Moria, which of course touched upon very similar themes (and Gollum).
