I'm encouraged by this:
He's an elf with attitude. He has this fantastic icy stare but, as soon as the cameras stop, he's such a nice guy. It's the elves you see in the end, they are perfect beings."
I always imagined Thranduil as a frosty elf - I would have loved to have met him, but at the same time, I imagine I'd feel awkward around him. Sounds like they've got him spot on. And his costume matches this description too.
I'm also glad that they have done location shooting for the BO5A. I was worried it would all be done in the studio. Can't wait to see those 100 Dwarves!

Dwarf women are mentioned, so it must be the dwarf folk fleeing from Erebor. I doubt dwarf women would be fighting at Azanulbizar.
