Article on Hobbit makeup. Can't Post

This article makes an interesting reference to what seems to be some BOFA filming on South Island

'Atop a mountain in the South Island and a hundred dwarfs stumble and stagger down its slopes led by the heroic Thorin Oakenshield.
As the cameras roll, Andy Serkis' voice crackles over the radio from a helicopter above: "You guys are doing great. You look like you are in pain and so tired.""

Thanks Moahunter [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm encouraged by this:

He's an elf with attitude. He has this fantastic icy stare but, as soon as the cameras stop, he's such a nice guy. It's the elves you see in the end, they are perfect beings."

I always imagined Thranduil as a frosty elf - I would have loved to have met him, but at the same time, I imagine I'd feel awkward around him. Sounds like they've got him spot on. And his costume matches this description too.

I'm also glad that they have done location shooting for the BO5A. I was worried it would all be done in the studio. Can't wait to see those 100 Dwarves!

I'd be happy with either! [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm glad we're getting more Dwarven culture. Smile

Ha, I laughed at this line! [In reply to] Can't Post

Aidan Turner, who plays Kili and grew his own beard

It's good to know Kili's nonexistent beard is all natural! Wink

I'm pretty sure they're talking about the Battle of Azanulbizar [In reply to] Can't Post

BOFA isn't being filmed until next year.

Must be Erebor [In reply to] Can't Post

Dwarf women are mentioned, so it must be the dwarf folk fleeing from Erebor. I doubt dwarf women would be fighting at Azanulbizar.

Ah, sorry, made that comment before I read the article [In reply to] Can't Post

Just assumed it was Thorin and the dwarves after the battle Blush

Nice to hear they had so many extras though.
